I don't usually write reviews for good experiences, but my experience with yamibuy has been pretty exceptional so far that I feel the need to talk about it. I've purchased from them about three times now, for drinkware/glassware, kitchen supplies, cosmetics, and perfume, in the past 9 months. Not sure if I'm just close to the warehouse (in socal) but all items have been basically delivered within 24 hours of placing the order.

I tried to sign up in order to order some congee, but could not do so because they said to answer with a code sent to my email address but never received the email so could not send back the code - they should add a way to send a text to my phone that is NOT a smart phone but being a disable senior is what I can afford

They sell expired products. I have ordered from them a few times in each time, and products are either damaged and/or expired. Packaging haa also been damaged every single time. The product reviews of a particular listing are not accurate. I would click on reviews of a particular product in the reviews with all be about something completely irrelevant. Product search is terrible. Not only is it inaccurate, the filter feature is awful. I will copy paste an actual listing on their site and put it in search , and it would not show up when I search as one of the first items. I would have to keep scrolling. They lie about product origin. They often list items as Japan or Taiwan when it is actually from China. Their restock alert feature is highly inaccurate. I will get an alerts and go in just to realize that I got punked. The messaging/alert feature is awful. You cannot "select all" and delete. They make you click on each and every single junk mail they send you. I also hate how they often limit you to one item of our product when you are purchasing from another vendor. If you are going have $100+ for free shipping, you should allow someone to buy three items of a product at $7 each, not one... thus they make it very hard to reach minimum for FS. They also charge import fees from other sellers, where as Weee! does not. PROS: -They have a lot of products I would not have been able to get elsewhere at competitive prices -So far , they have also been good about refunding or offering credits when I file complaint on damaged goods. Regardless, no one should be filing complaint on damaged goods this frequently -No restrictions (unless state/federal statues) on shipment locations and consistent price (excluding taxes)

I bought items on sale and it was declared on the page that they would expire in a few months. exp dates on the sticker match the site, HOWEVER the individual packages inside the box do not match. EX- I bought Sticky Bean Oreos, the website says Dec 09 , 2026, the sticker says Dec-09-2026, the individual wrapped cookies say 2026-03-10. China (origin source) writes their dates as year/MONTH/DAY. These are indeed expired. One of the boxes I got is stickered as Dec 23, 2026. The wrapped cookie inside shows 2025 12 12. ALMOST A YEAR EXPIRED. They have a TON of international snacks Ive never found in the US and really good prices. Super happy.

Have no idea why Yami’s overall rating is so low- I’ve been a customer for over 6 years and have never had an issue. Boxes literally get here in 2 days, which is insane. I’m in Colorado and I know one of their warehouses is in California, but free 2 day shipping is phenomenal. This shipping is free when you spend $49. The selection is HUGE. I find so many goodies and snacks from South Korea and Japan you can’t get anywhere else. I am a forever customer and hope more people discover the hidden gem that is Yamibuy!

Deceptive marketing—shipped stale stock shorter than advertisedTitle: Warning! Do not trust the expiration date on website description! The webpage explicitly promised an expiration date of May 27, 2028. However, the physical item shipped to me has a batch code of 5051HZ. According to Shiseido, this was manufactured on February 20, 2025, meaning it actually expires on February 20, 2028—3 months shorter than advertised! Yami is dumping 1.5-year-old stale warehouse stock on customers at full price. Active sunscreen filters degrade over time, making it unsafe for summer. Customer service refused a returnless refund, forcing me to waste high-priced gas to mail back their error.

I submitted a return request for the NIVEA UV Super Water Gel EX (SPF50+ PA++++), which I suspected had a major quality/formulation issue. To verify, I tested the product under a 365nm UV camera. While my other sunscreens form a solid, uniform, pitch-black protective barrier under UV light, this specific bottle appeared incredibly blotchy, patchy, and uneven—even after generously applying multiple layers. Yami completely brushed off this legitimate safety and quality concern. They declined my refund request with a generic, canned message claiming that a blotchy appearance under a UV camera is just a "normal optical phenomenon caused by ingredients interacting with skin texture." This is incredibly misleading. A patchy film under UV light means an uneven distribution of active UV filters, which directly compromises sun protection. It is a massive quality control issue. Disappointed that Yami would rather copy-paste a scientifically inaccurate disclaimer to save $13.45 than protect their customers from defective, ineffective suncare products.
