Beware!
I am a woman in my 60’s living on social security and my savings. I saved for a trip to Las Vegas and was so excited to take a break. On the morning of 9/30/24 a friend and I went downstairs in search of breakfast. I was feeling ill and desperately needed coffee and food after a great night on the Vegas strip. We were rushed by a man and woman who assured us they had coffee and ushered us to go with them. The next thing we knew we were in what turned out to be a high pressure sales pitch that was big on supposed perks and short on details. The entire episode took more than 4 hours. I finally got coffee after 3 hours. There were numerous staff involved, and the “team” consisted of many different salespeople. The only staff name I saw on the paperwork was Steven Miller. Company names included in the huge stack of papers I was eventually given included Shell Owners Club - West; SVC - West LLC; Wyndham Vacation Ownership; Shell Vacations, LLC, Travel + Leisure Resort Development Inc.; I recall at some point that they asked for my signature. They did not disclose that the signature would be used no less than 14 times on paperwork, much of which I did not see or read until after I got home. I did not know I had just 3 days to change my mind. I did not know they were opening a new credit card for me so they could charge maintenance fees to me monthly. And I certainly did not know my children would be burdened with the remainder of the resulting $40k debt plus monthly maintenance fees if I passed away. These companies and their predatory practices need to be stopped.
