Egotistical Rewards Members
My issue is this, I have dealt with Wyndham customers, A LOT, thru the years. Yes, Wyndham has some good qualities, as long as the hotel offers them or offers those qualities. However, I have also seen A LOT and I do mean A LOT of Wyndham Rewards guests, no matter what level, believe they are above everyone else. They should get special treatments, even if it interferes with State Board of Health and Safety issues. Example 1, parking next to door to enter said hotel, even when others are not allowed and have been towed because they parked there. All the guest says when they are told that they cannot park there is, I am a diamond member. As if that guest is THE ONLY diamond member staying there. But, now handicap people cannot get into hotel because that guest is a diamond member and believes they are above the law. Example 2, breakfast is allowed during a certain time frame, but guests want it 45 minutes to an hour earlier. Not realizing, that state Board of Health, when they set a time frame, hotel chains must stick to that time frame or they can lose their ability to even serve breakfast. I have personally been thru a discussion with a SBH official and let me tell you, it was not fun. They can be...something. sticklers for rules, and sometimes, you never know they are there. If hotel chain opens breakfast earlier, then they have to close earlier. How fair is that to other guests? Just to make 1 guest happy, now other guests are going to be mad and leave bad reviews. Yes, these rewards are Great in some aspects, but some guests take advantage and believe they are above everyone else and they don't care what position it puts the hotel they are staying at, at an inconvenience and unsafe positions. Besides that, hotels need to learn that guests know how to play the game of getting what they want without really deserving it. It is easy to get a free night, if you work it right. Hotels need to grow a backbone and realize, NOT all guests are right! Tell guests that an investigation has to be put in place and then any portion of a refund can be given, IF it is found to be needed. Normally, guests realize it is not worth the trouble or they don't want to be found out that they were wrong. 1 hotel I worked at, the owner did that. His hotel was VERY busy and VERY well liked. Sold out all the time. The guests realized he cared for them and their stay. Anyway, I think these rewards and their meanings NEED to be revamped and the guests need to be more aware of what they are all about. They need to realize NOT ALL hotels can accommodate and implement the rewards the same way as others. Maybe the hotel needs to put signs up stating which one they can or cannot abide by. Also, maybe hotels need to be more aware and place signs indicating where they can park or what time breakfast is...NO EXCEPTIONS OR BENDING OF RULES!
