What a scam! Wyndham swindled me out of THOUSANDS of dollars! Their salespeople are so good at deceiving you and lying to make a buck. I have owned this timeshare since 2016 and have been disappointed the entire time. One major selling point was being able to travel anywhere, any time. That simply isn’t true. There is never any availability. What’s worse is that I have paid so much for this timeshare yet, if you go online through any travel website, there is availability and for FAR less money! I have never been able to take a vacation and with the amount I have spent, I could have traveled the country for a month!

Do yourself a favor and don’t buy a timeshare from Wyndham. We have had too many headaches dealing with them!
The “short” presentation ended up being 5 hours long. All those hours wasted while we sat there being lied to. The sales staff are shady liars! These are some of the things we were told that are not true that were omitted all together:
LIE: This is a great investment. We found out timeshares have no actual value.
OMISSION: 14.99% interest rate. We never knew the true loan cost, just the monthly payment.
LIE: We’d be able to sell the timeshare at any time. No one will buy it! Even eBay has listings for under $5.00 with no bites.
OMISSION: There was a cancellation period that they obviously did not want us knowing about.
LIE: There is availability everywhere! In reality, it is very difficult to make reservations and the website is not user friendly.
OMISSION: Maintenance fees. We were not told that we’d owe these fees even after the mortgage is paid off, let alone that they increase annually at shocking rates.
This purchase has been the worst financial pit that we have ever been in! There has been no payoff for the thousands that we have dumped in to Wyndham’s lap.

Please, anyone reading this, do yourself a favor and stay away from WorldMark. Doing business with them was one of the worst decisions my husband and I have EVER made. Their salespeople lie to get you to buy a timeshare. They’ll tell you anything you want to hear. We were told that this purchase would be a financial investment in vacation real estate with the ability to write it off on our taxes…but there is no monetary value or tax benefit! Their salespeople also told us we could use the timeshare for a few years and get out whenever we wanted. They neglected to tell us there is no cancellation plan, no buyback plan, NOTHING. When they tell you that Maintenance fees will not go up, that’s a lie too. What’s worse is that they pressure you in to buying with fake promos and “one time only” deals. Every time an offer was declined, they offered a better deal, the only catch being that if we left the presentation, it would never be offered again. We have been so disappointed by this purchase that we wouldn’t recommend this to an enemy, let alone a friend!

Beware of WorldMark
Beware of WorldMark. This company preyed on the fact that I am a veteran by saying it qualified me for special offers. The sales staff keeps you in a presentation for HOURS but once they have you in their clutches and you say yes to making a purchase, they fly through everything and hide all the important details of the contract. There were so many lies and facts that had been withheld. Just know that if you buy a timeshare with WorldMark, you will be paying more than what was discussed. The interest rates are high, the maintenance fees were not brought up at all nor the fact that they go up EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Don’t think that this does not affect you if you’re already an owner. Even after you have spent tens of thousands of dollars, they invite you to “owner updates” that are really sales presentations and they will grind and grind you down and make you feel like what you own is worthless, so you keep spending money. You’ll hear all about why you need to buy more points for HOURS. Save yourself the day and don’t show up, it’s NOT mandatory as they claim! Learn from me and do NOT do business with WorldMark!!

Avoid at all costs
We purchased our WM credits on the secondhand market, but still considered the membership to be in no way worth the cost. The maintenance fees were high and go up every year. But more importantly, the booking system is archaic and we were never able to book anything due to availability issues and the ridiculously user-UNfriendly reservation system. Do yourself a favor and dump this timeshare if you have it...or never buy it at all.

Shame on WorldMark Theclub
Shame on WorldMark Theclub. They don’t care about their members. They only care about collecting the quarterly maintenance fees. We have been members for over 18 years. With the pandemic, one would think that they would be a little lenient regarding expiring points as travel was not permitted within BC or to Alberta or to the USA. Even if permitted by the health authorities, it was not safe during the pandemic. Some of the resorts were closed. However, they continued to charge quarterly maintenance fees and in fact, the fees increased in 2021. Go figure. They are pocketing all the fees collected. We tried to reason with their useless and rude resolution team. They feel nothing for the members who may have lost their jobs and have difficulty paying the maintenance fees. Our ask was only to extend expiration of 17K points to 6 months so that COVID might be in control by summer 2022. And when you ask to speak to a supervisor, there isn’t one available.

When we stayed at a Club Wyndham in…
When we stayed at a Club Wyndham in Orlando, we were offered a free breakfast and $25 gift card if we would attend a one-hour presentation. This presentation began with a video where they showed us how much money we could save on vacationing if we were to be owners. When we met with the sales representatives, they told us that we would be making a real estate investment that would extend to our children, that we were essentially purchasing a vacation home, and that we would be able to book vacations at any time through an “easy-to-use” website.
After we finally agreed to the purchase, the sale rep gave us his cell phone number and said that we could call at any time if we needed any assistance. Once we returned home, we went online to book some reservations, but could not understand the website. We had tried to call the representative that gave us their cell number MANY TIMES, but he never bothered to return a single call. When we were finally able to get some assistance through customer service, they booked a trip for us.
Imagine our surprise when we arrived and were required to attend ANOTHER sales presentation and told that we had to purchase MORE POINTS because what we owned wasn’t enough! We now have astronomical maintenance fees, continuous, seemingly never-ending mortgage payments, and EVERY TIME we attempt to visit there is continuous pressure to increase our membership. What type of company treats their clients this way? They only care about how much money we spend and view us a DOLLAR SIGNS, not VIP Owners!

Horrible systems and no availability for reservations
91% of Worldmark reviews are 1 star. BUYER BEWARE!! I've been an owner for 15 years and Worldmark never fails to disappoint. Don't ask why I've been a member for that long. I guess, I thought I bought in low but it is always a disastrous process to reserve rooms or find something that is available. Let's start with the website. It's virtually the same website they had 15 years ago when I signed up - it's archaic and cumbersome. There are anywhere from 8-20 different room types at a given resort. When you want to check availability, you need to enter the travel dates, select one of the dozen or so room types, and click availability. When that comes up as unavailable, as it usually does, you need to go back, click a different room type and check availability again. You will have to do this 8-20 times per property per timeframe to check for availability. It takes FOREVER!
Now, let's talk about the waitlist and reservation process. If a name is not added to the reservation, it will be canceled within 48 hours without any notice or reminder. I even had a reservation for a room and requested an upgrade for it. And yes, a name was attached to it. Several months later, I received an email saying my upgraded room request was fulfilled. I accepted the offer and they asked me where to charge the fees and I told them to charge to the CC on file. Well, apparently, going back to their incredibly substandard processes, they did not transfer the name to the new waitlisted reservation. They didn't call or email me notifying that it didn't happen and automatically canceled the reservation! I had no idea it was canceled until I checked my confirmation numbers 2 days before my trip as I was planning to leave. I called customer service and after being on hold for 45 minutes, talked to a completely useless representative who justified it as saying it was standard policy and a letter was sent to all owners 2 years ago specifying this would be the new policy! This is 2021. Are you telling me you can't create a system or process notifying owners their reservation will be canceled if a name is not added to the reservation. This is one of the absolute worst companies I've had to deal with, right next to the DMV. We haven't even gotten into the Maintenance Dues which increase 3-8% per cycle. STAY AWAY!
