I have been insanely frustrated with Worldmark by Wyndham! I have been an owner for 8 years and all I have to show for it is wasted money and thousands of dollars of debt. Being roped into my latest upgrade in 2019 was the final straw. My biggest issue is the fact that I can NEVER get a reservation for when and where I want. When I expressed this in 2015, I was assured that an upgrade would solve my problems. Well, it didn’t. Years went by and I had the same problem over and over again. In 2019, I was finally able to book a trip to Branson and was invited to another meeting. Again, I voiced my displeasure and was given the same answer as 4 years prior. An upgrade will solve everything. They brought out even more information about the upgraded “property” being a “legitimate real estate investment” with the opportunity to rent it out for additional income. All lies! Because I did not know that at the time, I agreed to the upgrade. Did it fix anything? NO. Am I still wasting money for nothing in return? Yes. In fact, the full amount of the loan was never disclosed so I found out later that by the time I pay off this newest contract, I’ll be $47K in the hole! All of this to be members of an “exclusive” club. Here is a helpful hint, do not buy a timeshare. Go online and book the same rooms as a non- owner but stay away from those presentations!!

We are discovery pass members and experiences an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE after trying to book our first stay using our credits. We got to the resort only to hear our reservation was canceled. I understand that human error could have occurred during our talk with the agent when we looked into the possibility of changing the dates (wherein the agent just canceled our reservation in whole), BUT the shocking thing is, we did NOT receive any email about the cancellation. If we did, we would have immediately tried to fix the miscommunication. We were stuck finding alternative accommodations in the middle of the night and wait until the weekend was over to speak to a representative. In which we were informed that they do not send cancellation emails and sided with the agent after we insist they go over the call. In no way did we feel we were heard or cared for. THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS IS ALL THE FREE THINGS WE GOT IN VEGAS AFTER LISTENING TO THE PRESENTATION.

I was visiting the fair in Del Mar in 2019 when I was approached by a woman who worked for Wyndham at one of the booths offering free vacations. The only catch was that I had to sit through one of their sales presentations and since I was told that there was no pressure to purchase, I decided to accept. When I arrived at their Anaheim resort, I was given breakfast and then introduced to a member of their sales staff. The woman I met with told me that being an owner with Wyndham would be making an investment that would continue to grow in value and that after the loan was paid off, I would be able to travel for the rest of my life with no additional cost. At no point were things like the ongoing and ever-increasing maintenance fees mentioned! I have now learned the truth – this purchase is completely worthless! When I have tried to contact Wyndham for assistance with resolving this issue, they have been no help. All they have done was tell me to contact a different company to sell it, so I did and at least those companies were honest and told me timeshares have zero value.

We spent $17,000 to buy additional "points" with the promise that we'd have access to the Wyndham properties. I guess *technically* we do...but they make it next to impossible to actually use them (can't even book through a website or see availability, & we have x amount of Worldmark only points, x amount of points for other properties, but they use the "other" points for the Worldmark property vs saving them for a Wyndham property). We go to in demand properties that require feats of patience & understanding of loopholes to get into, and they are nice, but when we get there, they aren't even close to capacity - they could allow more guests to use them, but they don't (I imagine they don't want the expense of running them at full capacity). Try to have a meeting to discuss how to get/use what was sold to us, and we get NOWHERE aside from talking in circles and trying to sell us more of what's not even working in the 1st place. I'm not even listing all the ways they give us the runaround. The service people you see at the properties (desk, housekeeping, etc) are always kind & helpful. The people who run this company have 0 ethics - a pox on all their houses! Don't buy a thing from them.

Doing business with Wyndham has been an absolute nightmare. I have been an owner for several years but since my last upgrade in July 2021, I have been severely unhappy. I had finally used my points for the first time to go to Daytona Beach and while checking is, I was forced to attend an update meeting. I made it clear that I did not want to buy any more, but I was told the meeting was strictly to review changes. As you may have guessed, this turned in to a sales meeting. I already had a contract with another timeshare and was told that if I traded it in, I’d get a better interest rate on the $8,000 I still owed on my current Wyndham contract. It turns out that instead of refinancing my current contract, they upgraded it! I should have suspected something when my sales rep told me not to tell the finance officer that I was refinancing. By the time I met with the finance person, I was having a panic attack and instead of doing anything to comfort or help me, I was taken back to the sales rep who proceeded to guilt trip me in to completing the purchase. Now I have more debt than I started with and must pay for ANOTHER 10 years. The monthly payments and the maintenance fees have gone up from what I paid before the upgrade. I was swindled by these people that promised me a “refinance”. Avoid these snake oil salesman at all costs!

Upgrading my contract with Wyndham has been one of the worst mistakes I have ever made. I had been an owner for 18 years prior to upgrading. The first 18 years of owning Wyndham, I was only able to go to New Orleans. I decided to purchase a second timeshare so I could book across the U.S and travel abroad. When I conveyed that I wanted to further investigate the Wyndham properties outside of the U.S. and get back to them, my Wyndham sales rep stated that if I did not proceed with the timeshare purchase, I would NOT be eligible for the 2 show tickets that I was promised for attending the presentation. I ended up purchasing a 2nd timeshare only after being promised several quality Wyndham properties outside of the U.S. with booking simplicity. I have found the process to be anything but simple. I had filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau in the past against Wyndham due to 1 of my 3 payments by check on 1/1/21 being falsely determined as delinquent. It is the company’s responsibility to cash checks in a timely manner, not the client’s responsibility! And If Wyndham finds it necessary to engage in these types of nefarious business practices and intentionally delay the processing of payments to generate additional income at exorbitant rates, then this company needs to be investigated! I write this negative review to give insight to others to show that upgrading, purchasing, or even showing up for a presentation to receive something for “free” is not worth your precious time or money. Stay away from Wyndham!

Worldmark by Wyndham threatened to evict my daughter and her children. Even though we had paid for the reservation many months in advance, including the $100 non-refundable, non-transferrable guest fee, due to an emergency at work, her husband arrived a day late to our family vacation. Since Worldmark by Wyndham only allows one name on the reservation, they threatened to evict my daughter and her children because his name was on the reservation and not hers. The fact that they decided to let my daughter stay the first night demonstrates how BAD the guest policy really is. Worldmark by Wyndham’s own resort staff refuses to enforce such a heinous policy and having such a bad policy puts them in a serious moral dilemma. Do they enforce policy or be decent human beings and give my daughter’s little family a place to sleep—the place that we had already fully paid for!
