Ordering through Amazon Whole Foods Market is a nightmare. Pickup windows come available at midnight and are only available for the next day, and they can fill up before 1am. Once you order you can add but can't remove. I was notified one item (cheese dip) was low in stock but my only choices were to accept one of their inadequate substitution choices (all salsas) or "best available" (would obviously be a salsa) or "no substitution." I could not pick my own substitution, nor swap this product altogether for something with ample availability. I had to add a second cheese dip just in case the first ran out (I am gifting this order for my son to pick up). Never mind the over-priced food and niche market (I don't want almond milk cheese dip), the ordering process is far more cumbersome than ordering from grocery stores that are not linked to Amazon. The reason I chose marketplace is because I figured Amazon ought to have this process down better than most. Quite the opposite! I will never order from them again. I meant to send a Christmas meal gift to my sons across the country; instead I have sent them a bundle of additional holiday stress, trying to find a way to get off work to meet the store's restrictive schedule. I had to apologize for my gift!!

Each week like clockwork we receive an…
Each week like clockwork we receive an email telling us of all the great items on sale. In order to look at the sales you need to input your store or zip code and then select the location. My wife and I then select the items of interest, make a list and drive to the store we use. Surprise! The sales are not always set up and very often the items aren’t even available. How hard is it to not advertise items for sale that are out of stock? Either don’t put the items in the flyer or have them. If this was just a once in a while issue, so everyone makes mistakes. But this goes on week after week. Last weeks the shrimp, not in stock. This week the shrimp, not in stock. Some weeks they have croissants, then you can go a week or two with none. I like their blueberry scones. Again weeks without then, wow, their back. Is shopping supposed to be a scavenger hunt? Carry an item, inventory the item based on an accurate rate of sale, keep it in stock and make happy customers. That shouldn’t be too hard for someone of moderate intelligence. I have gone several times in the last week at lunch time. Yes the lines are ridiculous, but that is another matter (why only keep a few registers open during prime time?) I went over to see about purchasing a few slices of pizza. Of the 8-10 places for pies they had a total of 3-4 pieces of one pizza and 2 of another. All the other spots were empty. I asked if there were more in the oven? Yes there was one more pizza that would be out soon. I asked as it was lunch time why when pizza would be a quick grab and go that there were so many empty spots. Short staffed was the answer. Hope they get a lot of lunch and dinner sales when or if they ever put some out.
They place is going to hell. Each time I go I swear I’ll never go again. Please somebody, anybody, open a decent place near me and I’ll be the first on line.
Help.

Poor, poor corporate customer service
I'm so disappointed. I just spent nearly 45 minutes on the phone trying to get a gift card reissued. The woman I spoke to was NO help and when I asked to speak to a manager she hung up on me! WARNING: Do NOT buy gift cards at Whole Foods!

If you expected better delivery service…
If you expected better delivery service for your 10 dollars, think again. Missing items, dead flowers, no substitutions on items.. Maybe your contractors would do a better job if that 10 dollars went to them instead of the bloated Bezo's pockets.
Amazon ruined Whole Foods.
You can tell how little they care, by the lack of responses to negative reviews.

Item missing from groceries, website malfunctioning
I took an item off the shelf and put it in my cart. It isn't on my receipt or in my home. Store personnel emptied my cart for me. There wasn't that much stuff in it. This isn't a common problem there, but I'm really annoyed.
Earlier a large tomato from the cart ended up on the ground. There seems to be no way this was possible.
I tried to order the missing item to be delivered. The largest store in a large city supposedly does not have this common item. The Amazon/Whole Foods website is ridiculous. It just does not work. I could not get the website to change to the store I was at earlier to order the missing item for pick up. Unbelievable. It showed me unwanted items but not the one I wanted and knew was there.
Earlier I was glad to see an arrogant, misogynist employee working with shopping carts instead of people. It's a step in the right direction.

The management at any Whole Foods
The management at any Whole Foods, particularly in the DC metro area (Tysons, and Chevy Chase whole foods) does not teach their staff how to pack groceries. I always have to ask to pack the cold stuff together so when I go home and I am in a hurry, I can unpack 1 or 2 bags to put things in the fridge, and the pantry stuff can wait. But they never do!! Its thrown into the bag like a pack of "S" (pardon my language), and everything is intermingled. enough is enough, Its an expensive grocery store, a little training would help! I am sick and tired of it. I have been to Whole Foods for 30 years, prices have gone up (since Amazon), and staff have gone worst!

Website ordering is ridiculously…
Website ordering is ridiculously terrible. The most simple things are impossible to find/order. Surprisingly one of the worst web ordering systems ever. No joke.

Amazon ruined Whole Foods
Amazon turned Whole Foods into Walmart Lite. Years ago Whole Foods used to be a nice place to shop. Not only could you find a plethora of organic foods, the ambience was nice and the employees were knowledgeable about organic foods. Fast forward after the Amazon acquisition: finding organic foods without garbage and fillers added to them is almost impossible. 365 brand is now choc full of canola oil, gums, msg, and other questionable ingredients. I kid you not, you can actually find more organic food in the Publix bakery than you can find at Whole Foods bakery now. Finding organic food in Whole Foods bakery or deli is literally like looking for a needle in a haystack. The ambience has gone from nice to noisy jarring warehouse with ugly sales stickers everywhere. The store is filled with people who clearly appear to be just looking to use their Amazon prime membership discounts and not interested in health-conscious foods. No offense but a number of them look like they never met a donut they said no to, and look horribly out of shape. Many of them fill Whole Foods not wearing masks during the pandemic. You can tell a number of them are willfully ignorant. Not at all the healthy minded people that you used to primarily see. It is a completely different demographic, one of people looking for a discount from Amazon instead of a health-conscious consumer. Instead of associates who use to walk you to something you would ask about and volunteer knowledge about products, you have cashiers and associates who act like they were raised in a barn. They holler to one another across the store, get right in your space while not being properly masked, look like they have been chain smoking for the last 20 years and that they just got off from their job at Circle K or 7-11 gas station. The refinement and sophistication is gone. Amazon gutted Whole Foods and turned it into Walmart Lite. I prefer Sprouts now, and I hope some other organic foods store (and I mean organic as in committed to organic foods and not selling out for $$$$$) comes along and eats the lunch of Amazon’s Frankenstein remake of Whole Foods. I cannot wait until a rival comes along and pushes Amazon Whole Foods out of the organic food space. Amazon has already been pushing themselves out of the space by replacing the good organic options they had before by filling them with garbage ingredients and adding less organic stuff to the shelf. Amazon deserves what it may get for doing this and I hope it causes Whole Foods to tank out of the organic foods space. Alternately, I would hope that Amazon and Whole Foods invest into turning Whole Foods into a top quality organic foods mecca and not an Amazon Prime sales mecca, but let’s be honest we all know that will not happen because making that $$$$$ is far more important to them.
