DO NOT USE WETRAVEL. I paid $3,999.29 through their payment platform for an 8-day diving cruise in the Galapagos, and it turned out to be a complete scam. Booking ID: #822761097447081013248 Organizer: Royal Galapagos Expeditions (Karen Criollo / Edison Dabas) The "verified" organizer on WeTravel never paid the vessel (Danubio Azul), fabricated fake booking vouchers, and boarding was strictly denied upon arrival. A formal criminal complaint for serial fraud has been filed with the Galapagos authorities (Fiscalía de Santa Cruz). Despite providing official police reports and written statements from the boat owners proving the fraud, WeTravel's customer support is completely useless. They refuse to freeze the funds or mediate, and simply send automated replies telling me to "contact the organizer" – the very scammer who stole my money and whose account is under investigation. WeTravel provides zero buyer protection and enables fraudulent merchants to cash out freely. Avoid this platform at all costs.

Hundreds of travellers have booked through it so far. The best thing about WeTravel is how many ways our guests can pay: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH, SEPA, Bancontact and bank wire, with a deposit and instalments if they want to spread the cost. They can also pay in their own currency. So far they have paid in more than a dozen currencies, from euros and pounds to Swiss francs and Japanese yen, while we still receive US dollars. The dashboard is clear and easy to use. A beginner can set up a trip and start taking bookings quickly, and there is plenty of depth when you need more. We use it for tailor-made quotes and extras like private transfers and excursions, discount codes, and paying our travel advisor partners their commission, and their API and webhooks feed every booking straight into our own system. On our website, the WeTravel calendar and checkout sit right on our package pages, the checkout works in 7 languages, and travel insurance is offered as part of the booking. The platform keeps getting better, and when we have needed help, the team has been quick to respond. We recommend WeTravel to any tour operator, whether you are just starting out or running a bigger operation.

I've been using WeTravel now and it is the perfect solution for the two Safari companies I work with. There are not many platforms that work with Uganda and Tanzania which was making it hard for us to offer secure payments to our customers. With WeTravel we have found the solution we were looking for. On top of that it allows us to manage the bookings much more effectively, and I particularly like the email scheduling options.
