I decided to use wepay for a surprise birthday party that I was planning for my fiance in Hawaii to collect all of the funds for the group tickets as Hawaii airlines allows one point of contact to purchase the tickets only. Wepay seemed to be the most logical choice as it provided transparency of funds for everyone traveling in the group. I set up the account in Feb 2013. At first it was fine, I was able to speak to a live person and they were generally great. However during the course of the months apparently their policy has changed where you are able to speak to a live person everything is via email. They never sent a notification of this policy change. So noew the trip purchasing date is approaching and ppl are beginning to pay and I check the account and wepay has added a 28 day hold on all funds two weeks before i have to buy the tickets!!1 Never mind that I initially had reserves removed when I was able to speak with a live person back in March, but somehow they were added back to the account without me knowing. I contact them and they ask for more verifying info fb, address etc and they release the funds. A few days later another person pays and again reserves are placed back on the account! I contact them and now a new person is telling me they need to verify my ss# and so I give them that and I even uploaded the flight contract from Hawaiian Airlines so that they could see I am not running some fraud event. I have heard nothing from them in 2 days and they still have my friends money on hold that he expects to be applied to his ticket which may not occur due to wepay's ineptitude in handling online transactions. They are not better than paypal, albeit surprisingly worse. Stay far away from this company if you require expediency, transparency and customer service that involves TALKING on the phone to a real person. Ironically they ask for all of this personal information but you cant event talk to a person...reeks of shadiness to me and I have placed fraud alerts on my credit reports as a result as I do not trust this fly by night company that changes policies without informing customers...a bank or cc company would never do that as you are dealing with people's funds and transparency and information are paramount! DO NOT USE!!

WePay prides itself as being different from [external reference] and while [external reference] certainly has a few issues of its own, WePay is very far behind. It also prides itself for its personalized customer service, but that is easily said when they only communicate to inform you that your account is being terminated. In the meantime, emails remain unanswered. This is my experience. I signed up with WePay and within a few minutes, I was good to go. I filled in some very basic information, such as name, phone, address and SS #/ EIN. I also uploaded a link with reviews from our clients. As for many other customers, WePay started processing payments for me and then one of them stayed in pending mode. I contacted customer support and Charlie informed me that our information couldn't be verified and suggested to re-enter it, which we did. Then.... nothing. After several unanswered email, I was simply informed that my information couldn't be verified and that therefore the payment had been cancelled and my account terminated. WePay did not even ask me for proof of ID and address. Their procedures seem very arbitrary and do not display proper due diligence, in a field in which it is absolutely paramount. My customer and myself were left hanging for 3 full days, after which I but also my client received an email from WePay in which they explained that they would not be processing any further payment for us. For a company which prides itself with customer support, this is an interesting one. Our client, very understandably, has now lost trust in service providers such as WePay and [external reference], but also, questions our honesty. It is appalling that WePay can so quickly damage a reputation which I have put so much work into building. I warn current customers and people considering WePay. My situation is far from isolated. Do not give them a chance to damage your business.

I call in to WePay all the time for my business (law consulting, Arizona), but today Chris on chat asked if I would write a review on here, so I said of course! I was really surprised to see some of the reviews before me on here - it's surprising that people have had bad experiences. I guess it makes me wonder about what these reviewers have been trying to use WePay for. I send invoices and I've used the virtual terminal a time or two. Most of my payments still happen by check, so WePay is kind of an extra thing. I tried PayPal maybe 8-9 years ago but I remembered not being able to use it very well so I searched for alternatives and WePay popped up somewhere. I use WePay maybe twice a week and its GREAT. I really like being able to call in whenever I can't figure something out so the phone guys definitely know me - they say hi and ask how my day is going which is sometihng that i've never seen online before. Just in my town at the baker or something. Anyways, great company and the customer support RULES BIG TIME!!!

I love the WePay customer service team - they are awesome! I had a question on my payment and they went above and beyond to help me. It is pretty rare these days to get a real person picking up the phone but for them to take the time to explain everything to you in detail is even rarer. They've definitely earned me as a long term customer!

I ran across WePay on FB from an ad, and being in web services and needing to charge for a variety of things, I decided to give them a try and was not disappointed. Was easily able to process transactions both online and over the phone (love the virtual terminal, makes it super easy), and I've recommended them to friends and clients looking to integrate a payment processor. On a side note, I did take a while for payments to be deposited in the 48 hour time frame, but once I processed a few thousand through the system, it was on that time frame. I never waited more than 5 days for my money, and never had any holds. Intuit did this to me as well, as will most processors right out of the gate. Its a way of life, and helps weed out any scams or con-artists.

My husband and I started with WePay in March of 2012. At that point we had read many reviews online about many processors. The thing that concerned us the most, was all of the negative reviews about Paypal holding funds for certain periods of time. My husband and I knew that we were not in a situation to where holding any of our funds for any period of time would be good decision for our company. We contacted WePay and were set up immediately with a virtual terminal to run our payments. We have our funds to our bank account within 3 business days, and any questions I have ever had have been addressed immediately over their chat feature or over the phone. I know almost every agent there by name, and they are always quick to help me and answer my questions immediately. I recommend this company to anyone that owns a business and needs to process payments. We will never have our business without WePay. If anyone has questions, or is skeptical, I invite you to contact me by email or even over the phone. This is one company that I cannot imagine ever having a bad review from anyone.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! Worst company I ever worked with. I have been their customer for more than 3 months. I have processed around 3k in payments. Yesterday I have recieved an email saying that my account cannot be verified. So I contacted support: Chris: Hey there →I have just received an email from you saying We could not verify the information you submitted to verify your account Kurt Winter. →My name is Kurt Winter →and my email is [email protected] →I just didnt get it. I have been your customer for a while Chris: let me see here →sure Chris: ok Chris: Unfortunately we won't be able to process payments for your account. Our banks and processors hold us to strict guidelines on what we can and can't process for, and we won't be able to offer you our services. Chris: I am really sorry for the inconvenience →well. I still got money on your account →And I need them as soon as possible →helloooooo ------- no response. Dont even try to open account with this scammers!

All the negative remarks posted here are correct. We are a physician's office and they arbitrarily closed our account and held a payment after services had been rendered. We will file complaints with BBB and post to every possible website so they are known for their unprofessional ways.
