I was so excited to start college again. Had my start date, FAFSA ready, everything was set in stone. I was told this was an affordable college. Every fourth class was no charge. Early access started on Thursday. On Tuesday afternoon I found out I was still, even AFTER Pell grant, going to be charged nearly FOUR GRAND per semester. That’s garbage. A university that thrives on ONLINE students, charging what they do is insane.

The classes are flexible
The classes are flexible; the online program makes it easier for people like me who are combining academics with work and family. In addition, the professors/instructors are well-experienced and willing to guide the students. Moreover, the support I received from the advisor is wonderful; she is always within reach.

Throughout this program
Throughout this program, I have consistently demonstrated perseverance, determination, and an unwavering commitment to completing my education. While working a full-time travel nursing contract in Gallup, New Mexico, I faced significant challenges simply to meet the last course requirements.
For one required nursing assessment, I had no access to a suitable participant through my work assignment, Nursing Assessment. Rather than giving up or delaying my education, I arranged my own solution. I traveled by air twice, drove from Albuquerque to Gallup, and met with a Naja woman/ the lease office agent who agreed to participate in my assessment. I navigated this process entirely on my own, traveling to an unfamiliar place and meeting someone I had never met before because I was determined to complete the requirement.
At the time, I requested the opportunity to reschedule due to the logistical challenges, but my request was not approved. Instead of allowing that obstacle to stop me, I persevered, completed the assessment, and ultimately passed the course with excellent marks.
This is one of many experiences, that reflects the dedication I have shown throughout my program. I have balanced full-time travel nursing assignments, cross-country travel, financial sacrifices, and rigorous academic expectations without losing sight of my goal. Today, I am on the verge of graduating, and every step of this journey has been earned through resilience, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner!

My advisor has been an invaluable…
My advisor has been an invaluable source of support, helping me stay focused and calm. However, there are a few areas where I believe improvements can be made. Firstly, the Castlebranch uploading process is excessively time-consuming. Secondly, the delayed delivery of courses and the inability to actually take them are frustrating and wasteful, especially considering the out-of-pocket expenses we already incur for preceptors. There must be a more efficient and effective way to manage these processes. In closing I am glad I picked Walden.

Arerell, thank you for this thoughtful feedback. We're so glad your advisor has been such a strong source of support throughout your journey. When I decided to attend Walden I put…
When I decided to attend Walden I put in an inquiry and they quickly responded. I applied and turned in all my documents and started my financial aide application. It went smoothly. They assigned me an advisor and she has been there for me since day one. She calls me before every session and makes sure I have all my ducks in a row. I also enrolled in automatic enrollment and that has been very convenient. I am so grateful I chose Walden. It has been such an amazing experience.

Through out the program my advisor was…
Through out the program my advisor was one of the only people to support me. I had about 3 professors that actually cared about the students. The fact that quizzes. Midterms and finals can not be gone over to see what was marked wrong is insane. There was tines where professor just gave grades to give them . No feed back on improvement. I understand you get what uou put in but the requirements for petty assignments took away valuable time for learning, reading and other things. The fact there is no support in finding preceprship is rediclious. The 300 kit for health assessment was the biggest waste of money ever spent. You can buy that stuff separately on Amazon and save money. The extra added on expenses through the program like ihuman, books and kits was rediclious also. I am so glad to be done and graduated from this program. Walden does not have a good reputation and I had many preceprship tuned down because that was my school. Even my last preceptor said he will never do a student from Waldens again due to lack of expectation and support .

Jennifer, thank you for sharing this feedback, and congratulations on completing your program. We're glad your advisor and a few of your professors made a positive impact along the way. The concerns you've raised around feedback, preceptor support, and program costs are important to us, and we'd welcome the opportunity to learn more. Two thumbs up!
I’m incredibly grateful for my experience in Walden University’s Postgraduate PMHNP Certificate Program. This journey was not always easy, and there were times when finishing my degree felt out of reach. Liz, my Student Success Coordinator, played a huge role in helping me get to the finish line, and I truly do not know if I could have done it without her support, guidance, and encouragement. I am so thankful for everything she did to help make this possible.
I also want to recognize the field team, who worked closely with me to help match me with preceptors and set me up for success during clinicals. Their support made a big difference and helped take some of the stress out of the process. The courses were well-structured, organized, and easy to navigate, which made balancing school, clinicals, and life much more manageable. Overall, I had a very positive experience and am thankful for the support I received throughout the program. Thank you, Walden, for helping me reach this milestone.
