Hello, My name is Elmase Nicolas Toussaint, and I do not usually write reviews. However, I feel compelled to share my experience at Walden University. Throughout my journey, my advisor and some of my instructors were incredibly helpful, supportive, and encouraging. They consistently guided me in the right direction, answered my questions, and motivated me to stay focused on my goals. Their dedication played a significant role in helping me achieve success. A special thank you to Pamela Rodriguez, who continually reminded me that I was capable of earning my DNP, even during the moments when I felt like giving up. Your encouragement, confidence in me, and unwavering support gave me the strength to persevere. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Whitehead and Dr. Wheeler for being such an important part of my academic journey. Thank you as well to my preceptors. Your guidance, expertise, mentorship, and support have made a lasting impact on both my professional and personal growth. My experience at Walden University has been incredibly rewarding. As a working professional and lifelong learner, I have appreciated the flexibility of the online format, which has allowed me to continue my education while balancing career, family, and personal responsibilities. What has stood out most is the support I have received from faculty, advisors, and fellow students. The instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging, and committed to student success, while the Student Success team has been responsive and helpful throughout my journey. The collaborative learning environment has allowed me to connect with professionals from diverse backgrounds, enriching both my academic and professional growth. As I near completion of my AGPC Nurse Practitioner program, I am grateful for the knowledge, confidence, and skills I have gained. Walden has challenged me to grow as a healthcare professional and leader while providing the support needed to succeed. I had an AMAZING EXPERIENCE at Walden! I attended a really great PWI and Walden’s courses was just as rigorous (if not more)as the PWI I attended.

For profit over anything at all. I made the mistake of withdrawing from classes the second week of the semester and they still want me to foot the bill for the whole semester. For what, nothing. I refuse to pay for nothing. It’s very predatory to me. I would choose a different school. Walden is not worth it at all.

I have written several emails to the department that deals with transcript for more than a week to make corrections on my transcript, unfortunately they're not responding to my emails. It just a shame for this to be happening to Walden, a university of social change.

It allowed me to get my Doctor of Public Administration degree. Was it perfect? No, but it allowed me to work and have flexibility. I would compare it to the traditional colleges that I attended.

My survey! “I am very disappointed with my experience. I have felt unsupported and unheard when trying to resolve issues. Communication has been slow or nonexistent, especially regarding important matters like reaffirmation and account concerns. I am also frustrated that I cannot access my transcripts due to what I believe is an error on the school’s part. This has negatively impacted me and caused unnecessary stress. It feels like financial matters are prioritized over student support, and that has made me feel like my success is not truly valued. I would like to see better communication, accountability, and timely assistance for students.”In stead of trying to fix the problem the kicked me out of school. There pissed off about my survey. I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Walden University has been frustrating enough that I feel obligated to speak up. As a graduate student trying to responsibly finance my education, I expected clarity, consistency, and compliance with federal financial aid rules. Instead, I was met with confusing guidance and barriers that made it nearly impossible to access funding I am eligible for. I was effectively told that I needed to reduce or drop loans from another institution just to be considered for additional aid, while my Graduate PLUS loan was never properly processed. That is not just inconvenient—it puts students in a financially vulnerable position. What makes this worse is that these decisions don’t feel transparent or grounded in the federal framework established by Federal Student Aid. As students, we rely on financial aid offices to guide us accurately, not create extra hurdles or apply policies that don’t seem clearly explained. I spent weeks trying to get straightforward answers and still felt like I was going in circles. When you’re already balancing graduate-level work, finances, and long-term goals, that kind of uncertainty is exhausting and honestly discouraging. I enrolled with the expectation that I would be supported through the process—not blocked by it. No student should have to fight this hard just to access the funding they are entitled to under federal programs. I truly hope Walden takes a hard look at how their financial aid processes are impacting students, because right now, it feels like the system is working against us instead of for us.
