Set an appointment with a receptionist at the local office. They said they took my insurance. A day before the exam, they called to confirm....and let me know that actually they dont take my insurance for exams and that that would be out of pocket. When I complained they basically said "yeah....its not really our fault". This company is totally cool with lying and/or saying anything to get you in the door but everything about this company is shady.

Went to get my prescription done with them on the 30th of April at Mall of Africa. Good service but wow, the optometrist there gave me a wrong prescription on purpose. I had ordered my frames on Lensmart with the prescription they gave me and I received my glasses but could not see with those Lensmart glasses. At first I thought it was Lensmart but Lensmart reassured me that this prescription I sent them is how they made the glasses. Apparently this is what optometrists do ,if you go outside to get better frames they botch up your prescription. Extremely heartbroken, not only did I pay R500 for testing plus R500 for Lensmart frames only for them to come extremely wrong due to the botched up prescription the optometrists gave me.

I went in through medicare. MY INS said I get $400 for frames. They tried to bait and switch me into taking a $79 set of frames

This company has become very dishonest. They oversell the poly carb lense products for simple reading glasses without even asking the customer. It just magically shows up on the bill. Very dishonest. ZERO stars from us!!!

What a mistake I made going to that place they gave me an eye test which was wrong. They worked with my wife to find glasses. She was trying to pick out the ones she wanted. The guy went right over and picked out one handed to my wife is here this is Good after we left. We canceled all of us prescriptions for the glasses and then we went down to Port Richey. Call LensCrafters we brought the prescriptions down to them. They took the prescriptions and put them in new glasses and the new glasses cost $1900. We waited our two weeks we got them back put them on. I couldn’t see worth a darn then I had to get a new test at LensCrafters and then they got my prescription right and they had a re-order all my glasses right now I’m working with the old glasses with the bad prescription. I can’t see anything with them. They were worse than my eyes were before. Don’t make the same mistake. I made LensCrafters as a place to go in Port Richey. I even called him today to talk to a manager I spoke to somebody and told them all about what took place in that place. I still didn’t get all my money back to the best of my knowledge and he said he would relay my message to the manager while I’m sure he didn’t because I never received a call back and that just goes to show me that he just doesn’t care.

I visited Surprise Vision works and was very disappointed. There was very poor communication and lack of explanation from both the doctor and staff before starting the procedure. Because of the poor communication, I got surprised shock and discomfort!! , Patients should be clearly informed about what is being done before any procedure begins!!

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at the Visionworks location at Golf Mill Mall. I have been a customer for years, but this was the first time I felt the pricing was excessively high compared to competitors. I paid close to $800, only to later find significantly better pricing, products, and service elsewhere for much less. My concerns after purchase were not handled professionally. Instead of feeling helped, I felt dismissed and repeatedly talked over whenever I tried to address issues. There also appeared to be a lack of clear leadership and accountability within the store itself. After reading other reviews, it is concerning how many people describe similar experiences involving pricing confusion, communication issues, and poor customer service. This appears to be an ongoing pattern that management has failed to meaningfully correct.

Went to see Skitalski Eye Care underVisionWorks about getting scleral lenses due to my Fuch's dystrophy, first appointments were great. I was able to be fitted for the lenses and all was going well until my eyes start to deteriorate further and adjustments needed to be made to one of my lenses. Well, that is when I was told "NO" additional lenses adjustments would be made, with no explanation. I was completely taken aback. I paid out of pocket $1800, since they would not file the VSP insurance for these lenses that I can now no longer use.
