Want to reiterate what ALL the other reviews are saying…. All these bad reviews are TRUE. Via Sat takes advantage of the elderly and people who live in rural areas and don’t know they are being charged extortionist prices. My mom has Via Sat and she is charged $90 for 40GB data at “UP TO” 14 Mbps - I live in LA and Cox charges $100 for up to 50 Mbps & 1.2 TERA BYTES OF DATA… that’s 1,000 GB!!!! The only reason they are still in business is bc people who live in the country have no other choice. But with Elon Musks Starlink and other broadband companies expanding to rural areas, Via Sat will hopefully go out of business and we all can get together and sue Via Sat in a class action suit!! Also, for those looking for an alternative to Via Sat, try getting a hot spot through Verizon and use your LTE instead of Via Sat.

Unacceptable customer service. I want a refund.
I hate writing these terrible reviews, I really do. It drains my time and pours negative energy everywhere, but if you can't get a satisfactory result, where else can we turn?
I have been a customer with them for many years, having no other decent option out here where I live. That being said, the service drops any time a cloud floats by, and as other reviewers have said, the service caps are outrageous. Many weeks I have spent with no internet at all due to this or that (one time, I was literally told it was because of a train derailment in Canada....?)
Now we have the option of Starlink, and while far from perfect, is much better and faster than we have now. I tried to cancel my service yesterday only to be told that my card was already charged the 104$ for the month (I should have called 1 day earlier, argh) and couldn't be refunded. So I guess now I have to pay for a month's worth of service that I won't use, and with the torrential rains we have had, I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to connect anyway. I get that satellite internet has its limitations and we as consumers need to understand that people can't control the clouds and whatnot, and we should manage our expectations. However, they CAN control gouging people for a stupid policy they have in place that says I can't get refunded "for pro-rated, pre-paid services." I didn't ask to have to pre-pay, I was basically given no option and was forced to have my card on file so they can charge whatever, whenever. I feel this is retaliatory in nature, because they know I have switched to another ISP. Furthermore, if things don't work with Starlink I would go back to Viasat, but because of this recent gouge, I'd probably get hughesnet if I had to. FCC really needs to get on the ball and help those of us who are rural. I am not THAT far in the stix, people 1 mile from me can get broadband. I guess I choose where I live so must suffer with crappy service.
If you have no other options where you live, you can try this. But I wouldn't recommend it unless you can help it.
I will now have to send all my equipment back and pray they won't find something to charge me more for. I have far exceeded my contract stipulations so was told I wouldn't be charged any early termination fees, so here's to hoping. I will keep you informed, and I will be calling corporate to see if I can get my 104$ back. But I'm not holding my breath.

Don't get
I switched to Viasat a couple years ago. At first they were good, when we ran over our limit we still had internet, we couldn't stream movies but my kids could still do their homework.
About the last year I noticed my plan was cut down, payment of coarse remained the same $220 a month. And after they hit the low max of 100gb our internet went to bits a second or no internet at all. If you have 5 kids at home all being homeschooled 100gb is nothing. And since they'd cut you down to bits or completely turn it off, I spent many days driving them 30 minutes to town so the can hook to a hotspot to do their homework done.
I finally called hughesnet back which is who we had before and is actually $80 a month cheaper to come hook us up again.
I called Viasat and told them to shut my internet off on the day my bill is due, they offered to give me $60 a month off for 6 months. After i declined and again told them to shut it off on the first which is when they always charged my card. They turned it off a day early to be funny I guess. With all 5 kids having end of year test today I sat in town all day, right now it's 10:30 pm and the last one just finished his tests.
Don't use these people, they have no customer support, when you use their chat you are chatting with someone from India. I've given them $5000 over the last couple years and usually from the 8th of the month we'd be over our limit and no internet and off to town I'd be going

AVESSI LETTO PRIMA LE RECENSIONI NON SAREI CADUTO IN QUESTA TRUFFA. OLTRE AD AVERE AVUTO UN SERVIZIO PESSIMO NEI TRE ANNI DI CONTRATTO, MI HANNO CHIESTO IL PAGAMENTO DI UN QUARTO ANNO, CON LA SCUSA DI NON AVER RICEVUTO LA MIA MAIL DI DISDETTA. PURTROPPO PER UN MALFUNZIONAMENTO DEL PC, IO HO PERSO TUTTE LE MAIL E NON POSSO DIMOSTRARE IL CONTRARIO E LORO NON HANNO ACCETTATO UNA MIA PEC SUCCESSIVA PERCHÈ OVVIAMENTE FUORI DAI TERMINI. TUTTE LE OPERATRICI CON LE QUALI HO PARLATO SAPEVANO BENE CHE I SOLDI CHE MI STAVANO CHIEDENDO IN PIÙ ERANO INGIUSTIFICATI IN QUANTO NON STAVO PIÙ USUFRUENDO DI ALCUN SERVIZIO ED IL VIASAT ERA SMONTATO DALL'AUTO, MA NON NE HANNO VOLUTO SAPERE E MI HANNO FATTO SCRIVERE DAL LORO AVVOCATO CHIEDENDOMI I SOLDI E CONTINUANDO IN QUESTO FURTO LEGALIZZATO. QUINDI SARO' COSTRETTO A PAGARE... CON L'AUGURIO CHE LI SPENDANO TUTTI IN MEDICINE.

A bunch of thieves
A bunch of thieves. I sent my equipment back, have tracking to prove it, and after 3 months, they still took out no equip return fee from my account. Over $300. Called and was told 3 days and get a refund. Nope
As internet picks get more popular in US, this company will go out of business

Not worth your time and money
I was going to write a review but if you just take a few minutes and go over the reviews already on the board you will get the information needed. Yes they sale internet service at heavily throttled pace for lots of money and yes it goes out from time to time and for days at times but hay they just sent me a ad for their newest gimmick a $3400. Generator so when the electric goes and 2days later the internet drops out again but I still had electric go figure, it’s a horrible company to deal with so beware

Don’t do it
Don’t do it, if you get it when you cancel they will expect you to literally climb on your roof and take something off of the satellite that a technician literally had to come out and install for you. Keep in mind, they do not tell you this upon install nor do they send you a box with room for whatever it is off the satellite dish that they want you to remove. Absolutely a company full of rude scammers.

Danno satellitare e io pago
Opensky, modem ViaSat.
Piuttosto resto senza. Senza parole anche.
