The worst company ever they lie about everything they might as well put NASA on their name

We built a home in a brand-new…
We built a home in a brand-new subdivision. With no other option than VIASAT or waiting months for other providers to get up and running.
I almost wished I had waited. VIASAT is terrible. The highest plan they offered here at the time was 100 gig, which we went through in 10 days. After which it basically becomes useless unless you buy more data.
Two months later I was made aware of their new "unlimited" plan for $99 plus tax-fees .
Not much better at all. If you plan on watching a movie you will be subjected to constant buffering or having the picture freeze up altogether. If you like watching 4k programs......forget about it.
I finally called to cancel when fiber optic became available, and was told I would be charge for another month since we were two days into their "billing period".
I argued with these people for twenty minutes including with whomever their supervisor was also.
I was told there was nothing they could do but offer me $10 off a month for the next 12 months....lol
They will also charge you $15 a month for every month left on the two yr contract you sign.....which I was well aware of when I started the service.
VIASAT only exists for people like me living in rural areas that must have service for internet business. Using my cell phone as a hot spot simply is nowhere close to the data that is needed.

Don't do it!
Needed internet fast so they drilled into my house and installed a satellite for the internet. $70 for 100gb which was used in a matter of 2 weeks. The customer service does their best but you can hear the emptiness and shallow hope in their voices. I finally canceled my internet because we were moving and they slapped me with an audacious $200 cancelation fee. If you need internet, go with cable if it's available and as if there are any hidden fees for canceling.

Viasat service is one of the few…Bad internet service, worse customer service
Viasat service is one of the few internet options where I live. I pay $185/month for unreliable service. Between the hours of 6pm-9:30pm weeknights, it moves at a glacial pace or is non-existent, apparently because there are too many people using it. If it's storming, raining, cloudy, windy, or anything other than a clear sky, its slow or non-existent. My 2 year contract (that I was not informed that I was a party to until AFTER it was installed) ended 2 months ago, and my bill increased. With a notice that it is increasing another $15 next month. I am now moving and called to have service turned off and was told that it "Can not be shut off until the billing cycle ends" and they are not able to pro-rate billing. Which leaves me to pay another $185 for 8 days of service, and no recourse. I was informed that this is all a part of my user agreement - that I have not received, and that will take 3-5 business days to be emailed to me. I wouldn't sign up with Viasat again if it was the only option.

I have had Viasat coverage for years as…
I have had Viasat coverage for years as there are not many choices in my area. I called and cancelled today because I ordered a new computer with cellular service. Much better and much cheaper.
During my cancellation the rep said it will be cancelled 09/27/24. Then quickly said no it 08/27/24. Today is 08/10/24. My cycle is up 08/27/24. They are to send a box seven days after the 27th of August to return equipment. I have heard nightmares about this process. Viasat, if you are reading this, I am not the one the mess around with.
I have never trusted Viasat as they are expensive and do not deliver the speeds they say. During my cancellation call the rep said my satellite is not aligned. Funny, I have had them out twice for this. The first time it did nothing and the next time the idiot they sent sat his ladder in a bend in my roof. I had just told him not to put it there. Of course, he tore the shingles. I had just had my house roofed days before. What an idiot. I ran him off and told him what I thought. He looked at me with dismay as if it was ridiculous to expect him to listen and use judgement. This is the Viasat way. Call them and you will see. You will also notice a theme here with these clowns. Notice who you are talking to with each transfer.
I will post back with how the process goes. I have recorded everything so I can call them on there mistakes and the like. At least,if this is frustrating for me, I will have the facts to call these slugs out.

Viasat is a complete rip-off
Viasat is a complete rip-off. They promise high speed internet access (with all sorts of caveats) but deliver subpar results. Our speeds are decent in the morning (between 20-40 Mbps) but in the afternoon and evenings the speeds are always 5 Mbps and below and most of the time below 1 Mbps. Maybe that's Viasat's definition of "high speed". After repeated calls they did send a technician out and he made some slight adjustments to the dish but it had no effect on improving speed in the afternoon and evenings. Viasat loves taking their customers' money but refuses to add additional server capacity to alleviate the "congestion" (Viasat's word for lousy speeds) for many customers in the Northern Virginia rural areas.

Viasat left my business without service…
Viasat left my business without service between July 4, 2024 till July 15, 2024, because they had sent an initial technician out which is 3rd party contracted and while the first technician came out and said they fixed everything, in reality though my service was never back up but the technician had already taken off. I was then forced to keep my businesses neglected by Viasat because they mentioned they couldn't expedite or escalate a work service call because their initial 3rd party technician was recently there on July 9, 2024, but between July 4, 2024 till July 15. 2024 I incurred losses in sales exceeding thousands and thousands of dollars in sales, because my sales were being processed through Viasat's internet service and I had no service which I paid for continuously for over the last four and a half years as a customer of Viasat. My business has again incurred losses potentially exceeding thousands and thousands of dollars in lost sales as this business is a multifaceted business. Viasat and their representatives do not care and cannot do anything especially since their central office is in Mexico, but based on the fact that my business follows corporate regulations, I did place an FCC FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSIONER COMPLAINT, based on my incurred losses, continuous outages of service for almost two weeks is unacceptable. Had the location been a residence I would've understood. And on top of all of that Viasat wanted to credit me $50, while continuing to ignore and neglect my business and the continously incurred losses. Today is July 12,2024. I will have lost by Corporate calculations anywhere from $25,500 to $40,000 in internet payment transactions. Commercial customers beware. The incurred losses mentioned were calculated by Corporate, and that these losses were not less than $25,500 and most likely to exceed $40,000.

Worst internet company ever
Worst internet company ever. With today's smart home tech, their daily drops in service and extremely long wait times for repair servicing are ridiculous.
This company should not even be allowed to do service in the US especially considering that they have absolutely no US based customer support (good luck understanding them and getting them to understand you). When you can, with lots of luck, get someone you can communicate with they have no idea how to do their job and help you resolve the problem. I'll say it again, this company should not be allowed to do business in the US.
If you do choose viasat over Hugh's net you will experience many problems such as, unexplained frequent drops in service, crap service, bad customer support, and a lot of stress. It just is NOT worth it. Don't take my word for it alone. There are thousands of negative reviews and their rating is extremely low. Check it out yourself and do your research. Much luck to you.
