Why are airlines paying for this poor excuse for an app?
This app is beyond useless, and it cost me a few grey hair which wasn't there before I downloaded this piece of engineering atrocity. 90% of the blame, in my opinion, is not with the engineers, but with the user experience imbeciles (if they even have such a position within this company). I have spent half an hour trying to take a picture of my wife, getting a "face not found" message (how about that marvel of sensitivity to customers?), while I had no problem taking my own or my daughters in the same lighting conditions. Finally, when the photo was taken, it was immediately rejected for poor image quality. We gave up in the end. But engineering is not the worst part of this company. Before our trip to Colombia, the app refused to acknowledge the forwarded documentation, vaguely referring to being "unable to match" the information. I appealed to their customer service (all on the day of the departure), and guess what was the reply? Quote: "Please be sure to forward the email received in order to get all the information correct." Brilliant. Well worth the wait. In summary: I hope this company goes under very, very soon. I wish responsible executives at American Airlines listened to the hundreds of frustrated passengers, who, like myself, are willing to choose another airline just to avoid using this piece of garbage of an app and the company behind it.
