A lot of questions, very few real answers
This review is a revisit of past reviews. My experience with this company has been very negative and less than honest on their end. They change their answers to fit the current narrative and use words like "engineer" and "technical data" to make answers appear "weighted" with authority. They never actually provide any of the data which in the engineering world is totally void of any validity. You might as well say "my cousin said". Lol. Stay away from these people. I believe it's a drop ship operation with a lot of wandering excuses and very little authenticity. I work with engineers every day, all day. Update: A perfect example of what i was talking about....thank you! Folks you dont use an "expansion" anchor on the ceiling.....period! What would a picture possibly prove? Are they suggesting i use them and video it falling!? It is a known fact and googlung it will repeat this ad nauseum. You use a toggle. Period. Which I did because I know better. When I stressed that it was very heavy I was told it is made out of "Artisan material". Earlier in exact same conversation it was stated it is "solid wood". Well I weighed it and no matter what it's made of 18lbs is 18lbs. Lol. Pivoting back and forth and attempting to sway your audience with fancy titles and terms is ludicrous. An insult to people reading this and a great example of the issues they may face with you. Shameful. Somebody could be seriously hurt. I notice you had no rebuttal to being drop ship. In other communications you present yourself far differently. Scam company! Beware of these people. Had you been honest from the beginning and not tried to impress me with illogical words like Engineer you would not be in this situation. Engineers provide data. Not words. Show data that enforces your expansion hanger being used to hang a specified weight from the ceiling. Ive mentioned this over and over and you suggest pictures. Pictures of what? YOU need to provide adequate data! You dont because you can't! Those are wall hangers. Ever hang a light from the wall? Lol
Response from VakkerlightJun 19, 2026
Dear Stephen, You are 100% right, and we stand completely corrected. There is no excuse for the robotic, contradictory responses you received, and we are not here to debate or sugarcoat our mistakes. To address your point regarding our operations directly: We want to be completely transparent. We are not a blind "drop-ship" website that simply markup random items online. Vakkerlight is a registered brand; we handle our own industrial designs, source the materials, and work directly with our contract manufacturing facilities overseas in Asia to produce our fixtures. They are then shipped globally through our logistics channels. However, when our customer service team relies on generic scripts and fails to provide hard technical data, it completely destroys that authenticity and makes us look exactly like a detached drop-ship operation. For that disconnect, we take full responsibility. Regarding the technical installation: You are entirely correct. Standard plastic expansion anchors are designed for walls, not for supporting a vertical downward load from a ceiling—especially for a substantial 18lb fixture. Using them is a safety hazard. Your insistence on toggle bolts or structural joist mounting is accurate trade knowledge, and asking you for "pictures of a non-working light" after you already technically diagnosed the electrical issue with us was a severe lapse in our internal support training. We just sent a direct email to your inbox to address this under high-priority management escalation. We want to know how you would like us to resolve this issue for you today. If you are completely dissatisfied with the engineering or functionality of the current Solitude lamp, we would like to offer you a exchange—you are welcome to select any alternative style or fixture from our website that better meets your technical standards and standards of quality. Alternatively, we are ready to follow whatever direction you choose to make this right. We have already pulled this fixture's installation guide to completely remove references to expansion anchors for ceiling use. Thank you for your fierce honesty—it has forced a necessary overhaul on our support desk today. Please check your email so we can coordinate your preferred solution immediately. Sincerely, Miya Vakkerlight Team
