Got the 3yr dwarf cavendish Banana…
Got the 3yr dwarf cavendish Banana Plant - Producing Offsets First time banana tree mom here, I live in Massachusetts and have plenty other fruiting trees that overwinter indoors. Watched videos and read, did my homework before getting this cavendish tree. It arrived six weeks ago without any signs of life, it’s a stick basically, no leaves or signs of green. I figured it would take a while to reestablish itself. Got the banana tree potting mix, growing lights and put it with my other fruiting plants in a temperature controlled room with plenty of windows providing sunlight as well. The tree still shows no signs of life, dry crunchy top keeps on getting dryer, First and last time purchasing from tyty. Had an upsetting experience with customer service that advised me to wait at least another month before contacting them again. The one year guarantee is not reassuring as it sounds, if a replacement is needed it’s not processed until FALL….. not sure if it was a bad batch, but I will definitely not buy again and will not recommend this online nursery.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re very sorry to hear about your disappointment and understand how frustrating this situation feels, especially after you prepared carefully and provided proper indoor growing conditions in Massachusetts. Dwarf Cavendish banana plants are not shipped bare root like trees, but they can arrive dormant or heavily cut back, often appearing stick-like with no visible leaves. Bananas grow from an underground corm, and it is not uncommon for all top growth to die back during shipping stress while the plant reestablishes from the base. New growth typically emerges from the soil line rather than the top, which is why our team advised allowing additional time before determining viability. That said, we regret that your interaction with customer service felt upsetting or dismissive. That is not the experience we want for any customer. Our free one-year Plantsurance guarantee is intended to protect customers if a plant does not recover, and while replacements are scheduled during appropriate shipping windows to protect plant health, we understand that waiting can be discouraging. We do take concerns about possible batch or quality issues seriously. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to email [email protected] with your order number and photos so a senior representative can review your case in full. Our goal is always to provide healthy, high-quality plants, clear communication, and fair resolutions backed by our guarantee. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve both our products and our customer service, and we’re truly sorry that this experience did not meet your expectations.
