We are a non-profit organization without a tree
We are a non-profit organization. We adopted a park in our community. We needed to plant trees. We purchased 2 thornless honey locust trees. The local Ohio State Extension Agent planted the trees for us. He said one of them seemed to be struggling a little, but he thought it would make it. The other is doing fine so far. He came by daily to check on them, make sure they were watered well, and that they were doing okay. The struggling one didn't make it. I contacted TyTy Nursery, and they told me it was not a problem; they had a Plantsurance guarantee. I was told to send an email with the information from the order and to do a scratch test and send a picture of it. If they felt the scratch test showed the tree was dead, they would replace it, but they were out of stock, and I would need to wait until they were back in stock, and they would credit me for the tree, and I could order a new one. I did that. I kept waiting for a response from them and didn't receive one. I waited about a month, and I called them back. The lady I spoke to informed me they had never received my email and I should send it again. I verified the email address I needed to send it to and sent another email. I waited another month and called back, and the lady apologized, said they were having problems with their email, and she would stay on the phone with me to make sure they received it. She said the trees would be back in stock in the fall, and I could reorder the tree then. Since she told me she saw the email come through herself, I thought I could wait and order a new tree in the fall. I waited, and when it got close to fall, I went to my account, and no credit had been given. I tried several times to call and check on it, to no avail. No one answered the phone, and the answering machine said they weren't available much when it wasn't tree season; they would be in and out of the office. I still don't have a credit and can't get hold of the right person to resolve this problem. I would just like to get my money back that I paid for the tree and the extras to help plant it. We are a non-profit organization, and we rely on grants and donations to run our organization. We do not have money to throw away. We paid $203.75 for both trees and extras. We made sure we had a very knowledgeable person to plant the trees, and it still didn't keep one from dying. They have 2 emails on record for us, our organization email and my personal email, and they communicate with me through our organization email. When we first received the trees we were very happy with the company and gave them a raving review because they were so helpful and the trees arrived when they were supposed to. Once the tree died, so did the customer service.
