Our daughter has had the True Link card since March 2025. It does make most spending issues easier to deal with, gives her more autonomy, and reduces stress on parent and child. However, there is a learning curve for both administrator and cardholder. If the cardholder has online accounts they have to be linked to True Link. If the cardholder should not have cash, there are ways to get it through True Link. The card doesn't work everywhere, and pending charges can mess up a day's spending limits when they're finally posted. Funding days and times can be complicated, especially if different time zones are involved. On the plus side, the administrator support is very good. I recommend the True Link debit card highly with the caveat that the administrator still needs to be vigilant.

This has been a game changer for me! I manage the finances for my father with dementia. This allows him to have some form of financial independence while allowing me to restrict where he can use the card, ie online or phone, hopefully preventing further scam activity.

Working with Truelink has been a good experience. They are quick in their responce and quick to address requests and questions.

When I need support, I call in and am able to talk with a representative.

I appreciated the email letting me know about a change in scheduled transfers because of the holiday. I love how quick and easy it is for me to change a setting temporarily for a one-time purchase.

I would highly recommend the True Link Card to anyone who has been given the awesome responsibility of helping a loved one with their finances. It is easy to set up and to use. With just a little planning ahead if you transfer funds from a bank to the card before 4pm the funds will appear the next day. Customer service reps have always been responsive and available, including the financial advisor. The reports aid the Trustee to easily keep track of income and expenses, even including a downloadable page with a block for checking off receipts. The card was very effective recently because we were able to block a transaction that would've caused a disaster. What a relief! I do wish that the card was able to block gift or cash cards. This is an innovative solution to a difficult problem. Thank you! Thank you!

I have mixed feelings about True Link. Pros: After some horrible experiences with my overspending by my family member in the past, I like this service and gives me peace of mind. Cons: Expensive and extremely slow with money transfers. I have an automatic deposit that is supposed to be transferred on the 3rd of the month but True Link holds it until the 11th. This is very frustrating for my family member. It seems like True Link could figure out a solution for this problem. It's ridiculous.

We found TrueLink to be a complete pain to manage for me who funds the card and very frustrating to use by my disabled family member. At $12 per month for fee, is expensive for the poor service they provide. I needed to be able to fund at a minute notice. I've been using Zelle which transfer funds (even at night or weekends) but this product seemed to be robust, BUT Truelink sits on the funds for 1 week (making interest on YOUR money) until they "gain trust" on you. If you need the funds immediately, you have to email them and provide your bank statement -I thought well, ok a security feature, but then they keep taking your money hostage for 'several transactions' (they don't tell you how many so it could be 3 or 300 hundred) "funds will be made available to the Cardholder the next business day (weekends and federal holidays are not included/non-banking days" so if it's Friday evening and you needed to fund the card for the weekend, you have no hope -yet at Friday 9pm I used Zelle and my family member had the money right away -while he was waiting at the gas station frustrated because the card had a low balance ($30) and it declined the gas pruchase at the station. Thanks Zelle for working 24x7 as he was able to return home and saved me from having to go and pick him up. This is marketed as good for senior/disabled...it is NOT.
