We did not manufacture those parts nor have anything to do with handling the warranty on something we do not manufacture if something is worn out quicker than it should have or if something is wrong with a Shimano part. So, as I said, if you and your shop feel that those parts are worn out quicker than expected you can submit in a claim to the manufacturer of those parts which would be Shimano. I bought a Trek Domane (road bike) in Sept 2020. I had heard reports of expensive repairs so checked a few things....turns out it was over £184 to replace a seat post should there be a problem (which a friend of mine had had on an older more complicated model, that was in excess of £400 to repair), but I decided most bikes would have similar costs. The bike is great to ride with the frame and tyres smoothing out the rough roads in my area. What is really annoying is what appear to be shoddy or cheap components. Less than 600 miles in, the factory fitted tyre fell apart where it was in contact with the rim of the wheel. That has never happened to me. the tyre was properly inflated and it has only been on roads. The shop I bought the bike from agreed it looked like a manufacturing issue so replaced it for free. Now less than 900 miles in the bearings in the rear wheel went. I have cycled in rain and washed the bike so I was clearly to blame. Who would expect that a bike would get wet in northern England and then be washed with a sponge and a plant sprayer to rinse off. The bike shop were very good and put in better bearings and sealed them in properly at cost. Thanks to Wheelbase in Staveley, Cumbria. It is massively disappointing that Trek have used such cheap materials and I am now paranoid that another component will be failing soon. When it comes to replacing worn components I will avoid Bontrager if I can. When you spend £3000 on a bike you don't expect these kind of things to happen until you have gone at least a few thousand miles on it. Trek must be able to do better than this.

This is very overpriced bike with cheap parts. 1 month old bike, i did 10/12 rides. 2/3 of them in light rain. Pedals and bracket is rust after 2/3 rides in light rain and bike always in garage. Same time my son cheaper bike Carrera in perfect condition. I have photos as proof

Købte tilbage i efteråret 2020, en splinter ny trek topfuel 8 nx, fed cykel, dog ikke særlig holdbar😥 Efter 3 ture i skoven, er lakken på kronrøret slået af flere steder, cyklen har mudguard på og er blevet vasket hver gang. Trek nægter at udbedre skaden, da de mener det er udefrakommende slitage, pga lidt mudder, som cyklen burde være bygget til at kunne tåle, ifølge trek selv... Det kan den så ikke holde til i mit tilfælde. Trek laver fede cykler, men at de, ihvertfald min, ikke kan holde til normalt brug, det sku en ommer. Vil bestemt ikke anbefale trek, elendigt produkt og elendig service i mine øjne og tilsyneladende også i mange andres. Det blev så første og sidste gang, jeg skal have en trek mtb.

I visited Trek on Court Street, Brooklyn to ask them to estimate cost of overhauling a bike I’d had in my basement for years. A very pleasant young man called Andrew quoted me $400 to “make it safe to ride” and another $300 “or so” for one new pedal, a kickstand and different handlebars - more suited to my riding style. They said basically bike wasnt worth fixing and offered to sell me their entry level bike for close to $700. I then took bike to “Bike Station” in Brooklyn. Guy quoted me $75 to overhaul and clean bike, replace pedals, and put on a new kickstand. Didn’t think I needed new handlebars even at my age! The owner said it was a good solid bike. The price difference was STAGGERING!!

Trek bikes are terrible. Purchased a fuel ex 9.7 2020 model and it's been a terrible experience with water damage and blown corroded bearings, A made had a trek ebike and had dramas with that too. Refunds all round thankfully. Do not buy Trek bikes as they are woeful.

I recently bought a 2021 Trek Fuel EX 7 about 45 days ago. Within a week I had to bring it back to the shop because the bottom bracket was creaking so much. I dropped it back to the shop, which took about a week to complete. 2 weeks later- the same problem resurfaced again. The local shop then told me it wasn't the bottom bracket the first time, it was actually the headset (even though the noise was coming from the back of the bike). They proposed to solve the problem with Trek by ordering a new Knock Block instead of addressing the bottom bracket issue. Now, I'm out of the 30 day return window with a bike that is constantly creaking with a loose bottom bracket. I called into Trek's 800 number, and they told me there is nothing they can do except bring it to another shop. I brought it to another shop and they confirmed it's a loose bottom bracket. At this point- I have lost faith in the longevity of this bike. I want to return the bike, but I can't because it's past the 30 days. Apparently, I should have just returned it immediately instead of giving the local dealer a chance to fix the issue. What is the point of buying American products through a local bike shop if the service is this poor and inflexible? Why wouldn't I buy a direct to consumer brand if these simple issues cannot be addressed?
