My experience with Travelers Auto Insurance was extremely frustrating. After filing a claim for my truck, I repeatedly called, emailed, and left voicemails for my assigned claims adjuster (Zealous Ogden) but received little to no response. I needed basic guidance about my coverage, the repair process, and whether a second claim was necessary, but I was left feeling completely in the dark. My truck remained at the repair shop for approximately a month while I struggled to get answers. I eventually contacted my local insurance agent, who helped me reach a different claims adjuster. The new adjuster was much more responsive, involved, and helpful. Although I have had better experiences with Travelers in the past, this claim showed me how stressful the process can become when communication is poor. Customers deserve timely updates and clear guidance—especially when their vehicle is being repaired. Based on this experience, I would be hesitant to recommend Travelers. Im switching car insurance!

They make paying your bills really complicated. For most customers you can't pay online and have to call in. This has been down since May 2026, so 5-6 months.

I am currently still on hold 40 minutes in at this point, just to cancel a renters insurance policy for my mother who is no longer able to live by herself. I can do and pay for anything online, but cancel this policy. Absolutely ridiculous that this cannot be cancelled on the website in 2026! I will never use Travelers for anything and i will be telling everyone i know not to use them.

Horrible customer service. Bundled my auto and home, then they cancelled my home policy due to saying I did not have the inspection done, though they never reached out, then they uncanceled my policy and took weeks to get an inspector to follow through. Had some interactions with the auto claim team due to a rock claim and the staff were inconsistent, one blatantly rude and hostile, the main person never filed a reimbursement he said he would a month prior. In general a sloppy operation post sales of policies.

Working with Travelers Insurance following our May 2024 house fire has been a complete nightmare. Travelers set our original coverage limits well before COVID. By the time our house burned down years later, construction costs had skyrocketed, yet Travelers refused to honor realistic rebuilding costs. Instead, they hit us with a single lowball offer and dragged us into a forced arbitration process that stalled everything for over a year—leaving us with no recourse but to accept a severe payout gap. Over two years later, they still refuse to pay for required building code upgrades, including code-compliant insulation needed to actually rebuild properly. On top of that, they cut off Additional Living Expenses (ALE), leaving us displaced while they continue to stall. We have filed formal complaints with the Maryland Insurance Commissioner. Their lack of accountability, fairness, and compassion is appalling. Do not trust Travelers to protect your home or family when disaster strikes

Held on hold 2 times/2numbers stating 10-14 m hold time & that was a LIE!!! They Consistently have “high call volume” probably because many are calling back 3-5 times& they have no staff. It’s easier to call another insurer for a quote than wait “for travelers to call me back” at THEIR convenience when I’m no longer on break at work. Also, they expect me to unblock my no calls received from unrecognized numbers. That’s definitely a no go !! When offered a car settlement, call claims concierge to see if it’s fair-it’s not, they can give you 1000s more but won’t.

One of the worst isnruance companies; no one picks up the phone after collecting money

I had Travelers auto insurance for almost three years now. My experience up until the past month was positive. I was able to file a claim if necessary fairly easily and had little issues. However, my experience with Travelers during my total loss claim was extremely frustrating. Communication throughout the process was inconsistent, and I often felt like I had to follow up repeatedly to get updates or answers to my questions especially when all was settled and I needed the funds transferred to my account. I also would have appreciated clearer communication about when my claim was transferred to the subrogation department, as I was not informed of the change and spent time trying to contact someone who was no longer handling my claim. My interactions with Spencer Alexander Klein were not positive. I did not feel that my concerns were handled with the level of professionalism, responsiveness, or customer service I expected during an already stressful situation. I still have yet to hear back from Spencer with travelers and eventually had to have another agent step in after multiple emails, texts, phone calls, and voicemails went unanswered.
