Due to coronavirus 19 world wide we were advised by our government in Ottawa not to travel on cruises especially if your elderly. AON said our claim is denied as the virus outbreak is not covered....... My response is to NEVER USE AON for anything. Another incident on our last cruise was we were offered free gratuities but once aboard we were seeing daily charges of it. We called our contact at AON in Florida from the ship on day 3 and he said someone higher up cancelled the freebie. He said pay it and they will refund it later. No!!! He did agree finally and we got the credits but it took us an hour on the cruise on our dime to get it reimbursed. Find some one else- do not use RC's plan with AON. Tell RC that AON is crap coverage.

I think this is one of the worst companies around. Write your representative and tell them no bailout for the cruise industry or their insurance carriers.

When you say trip cancellation covered and that is why you buy it and then will not cover it, THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. There was no small print or guideline to make sure. Their company name wasn't even listed to research. When I originally checked my flight would be covered even if I changed my mind. So I bought it. Then I didn;t want to go and went to make a claim to make sure I would get a refund and the lady informed me it wouldn't be covered. Only covered if someone dies or your on death bed. There is nooooooo point in purchasing the coverage because it doesn't cover anything. So they are stealing from people. WASTE OF MONEY. WORST COMPANY EVER. I bet out of every one that has purchased this maybe 1% has ever used it and then half of that have gotten a refund.

DO NOT BUY THIS INSURANCE! We bought this travel insurance for a Royal Caribbean Cruise and had to cancel due to bleeding when pregnant. The insurance company said that wasn’t a good enough reason to get our full money back. Apparently, my worries for my unborn baby and the cruise not having the correct medical staff to handle my medical issues were not good enough. Shame on this company- they are a complete SCAM. I will never stop telling people and spreading the word on this terrible company

I purchased this insurance in November for our planned trip in April. Now this Coronavirus thing happened. Our connecting flight involves restricted countries, meaning we can't get in our final destination if we step foot on places that is affected by the global pandemic. I submitted a claim and legitimate explanation of the trip cancellation (which is a no brainer). I was completely denied because the virus outbreak is not part of their policy! I told them I can't get in the country and US won't let me back in the country unless they quarantine me because I had to stop at the infected places!! I waited and waited for their response. Then I check my claim. It was closed!!!! How dare!!!!! I'm beyond upset!

Wow what a p o s company filed claim for 250 bucks didn't even respond

After seeing so many poor reviews of Aon, I wanted to share our experience. We had planned to go on a cruise with extended family. Living in FL, 2 hours from the cruise port, I didn't foresee any reason why we wouldn't make the trip. BUT our family was coming in from CT and I was concerned they could have a weather issue, so I purchased the protection offered by Royal Caribbean. A week before our departure, our son suffered a complete complex fracture of his radius that also impacted the ulna. He was to be splinted for 2 weeks and limited from any type of physical activity and couldn't get the splint wet, significantly limiting our ability to enjoy the cruise - he wouldn't be casted until after our return. With the Ortho's recommendation, we cancelled the cruise - admittedly a tough decision since there is no way to really know if your claim will be covered until it is submitted. Royal Caribbean refunded us our excursion costs and taxes immediately. I submitted the claim with all of the requested information - the itinerary, the receipt, the attending physician statement and the ER discharge papers. I watched the claim move from submitted to assigned to in progress and to approved today. We were not asked for additional information and aside from the premium paid ($332) we recovered every penny we put out ($3800). The overall process took less than 2 weeks. My feeling is that if you understand your policy and what it covers and submit the appropriate documentation that the process is pretty easy! We would definitely use the protection again.

This company is a sham and I believe had no intention of paying my claim. My travel partner had to cancel his part of a 9 day cruise. NCL offered to let me cruise alone at no cost increase but I had recently had a major rotator cuff repair which left me with a 10 pound weight restriction for lifting, pain, and limited mobility. With no one to help me with bags, etc. travel was impossible. I submitted a letter from my surgeon which was sufficient for my employer but was not enough for Aon and they denied the claim. They said the documentation had to be on their form. Back to the drawing board - Surgeon filled out their form and they denied the claim again even though the surgeon clearly stated I could not travel and would be evaluated at my next appointment which occurred after the scheduled cruise and I was still under medical care. Ridiculous. Why buy travel insurance if they have no intention of paying claims even with medical documentation? I followed up with Norwegian and received no assistance even though they sold me this scam policy. They said it was not their issue but one I have to work through with Aon. Now I have a partial credit with Norwegian and NO desire to cruise with them.
