The application process was just easy. The coverage looks great. I have nothing further to report. Hope I don't need any of the coverage!

I wish I could give negative stars, I bought this insurance for a solo backpacking trip. This insurance was marketed to me as a good insurance for solo backpacking. I got sick and was hospitalized, after filing my claim I was denied because I did not have a return ticket booked by the time I left for the trip. Never once did they say that when I was signing up for the insurance, they simply asked my return date and nothing else. Only in the fine print do they mention that for about half a sentence. It is ridiculous, I bought insurance for a certain period of time and was under the impression I was insured for that time cause that’s how insurance works! But since I didn’t have a return date these emotionless ass wipes won’t approve my claim. Most solo backpackers don’t have a return date! It’s not even for that much, I promise tin leg will lose out on more money from lost customers then if they just approved my claim! I already convinced 4 people to go with other companies! And will continue to do so

Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re sorry to hear about the difficulties you faced during your trip. We understand how frustrating it can be when a claim doesn’t go as expected. We’d like to clarify that the policy you purchased was selected independently through our website. The policy you chose defines a "Trip" as having specific Departure and Return Dates. This is outlined in the policy’s terms, which state that all coverages end on the earlier of the trip completion or the scheduled Return Date. We understand that solo backpackers often have flexible plans, which is why we always recommend contacting our support center if your trip doesn't have a fixed end date. Our team is here to help guide you to the best policy for your unique travel needs. Additionally, the policy does offer an extension option if your trip is extended beyond the original plan. We regret that this information wasn’t more evident during your purchase, and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. If you have any future travel plans, please reach out to our support team. We’re more than happy to assist you in finding coverage that aligns with your travel style and ensure you’re well-protected throughout your journey.

My elderly brother was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. I decided to cancel my vacation to help him prepare for the time he had left. The insurance stated if a family member was hospitalized with a life threating condition, they would cover. I toId my brother I was taking time off of work, and he allowed his doctor to send me a letter stating he was recently hospitalized with a life threating condition. TinLeg received it, but said that was not good enough, and demanded his medical records including his medications, etc. I don't want my brother to know I am cancelling my vacation or on the hook for losing money. I don't want to break HIPPA laws, but believe it or not, TinLeg suggested a way I could get his records without my brother even knowing about it. I have that in writing. Shame on them!! I refused and apparently they will not honor my claim. Very disrespectful and intrusive.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the distress this situation has caused you and your brother during such a difficult time. Upon review, our claims manager has thoroughly investigated your case. We found that incorrect information was provided to you, and we are addressing this internally to ensure it does not happen again. Please know that this does not reflect the standard of service we strive to provide. We understand the sensitivity of requesting medical records, however, to process claims under the terms of our policy, we require specific documentation, including medical records. This does indeed require your brother to sign a medical release. This ensures that all claims are handled fairly and accurately. We regret that this was not clearly communicated to you initially. Again, we are deeply sorry for any inconvenience and distress this may have caused. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

I was given several options with the top 3 hi-lited which was a tremendous help. The details were sufficient for me to do a side by side comparison with those 3. Always received prompt, courteous answers to my questions.
