The worst business experience ever. DO NOT buy trip cancellation insurance from Tin Leg. Required incredible paper chase and then flat denial. Obvious cause of a cancelled flight. If you file a claim and Corey is the adjuster, forget it.

I had a complex case and provided…
I had a complex case and provided medical documentation to prove the emergency medical travel interruption but it did not fall under the strict documentation guidelines so my claim was denied. Watch out for this. I would not go with this company again because of that experience..

Extremely disappointing experience
Extremely disappointing experience. I would not recommend this insurance company.
I purchased insurance expecting that if something went wrong with my trip, I would have support and a reasonable claims process. Unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite.
When I submitted my claim, instead of actually helping me resolve the issue, I kept receiving requests for additional documentation and information. Even after I provided supporting screenshots, I was told they were “partial” and that more documentation was required. The whole process felt unnecessarily complicated and frustrating.
The most telling part of this experience is that I contacted my bank directly about the same issue, and they resolved it in less than 24 hours. Meanwhile, dealing with this insurance company involved emails, additional requests, and wasted time without actually solving my problem.
If my bank can resolve an issue in less than a day, I really have to question what I paid for when I purchased this insurance.
Customer service should be about helping customers when something goes wrong, not creating more work and frustration for them.
I will never purchase insurance from this company again. I’m sharing my experience so other customers understand what they may have to deal with when they actually need to file a claim.
The issue was resolved — but by my bank, not by this insurance company.

Received $0 for my “cancel for any reason” policy
Tin leg presents beautifully (oh, so nice!)but I filed a claim for a trip for which I bought “cancel for any reason insurance” for which they found a technicality and I received $0 zero dollars back. (I had to cancel the trip). The claims agent was defensive upfront and dragged me out for months. I would not recommend this company.

Poor communication, broken claims process
Editing to add that despite their response, I have provided documentation, including flights and expenses, while also failing to receive claimed communications from them. The fact that they are out here publicly exposing people's claim info to defend themselves is quite telling. Read through the other reviews yourself, not just the ones who purchased coverage but who attempted to actually file for a claim and it's easy to see a pattern.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Tin Leg. The process to purchase insurance is quite smooth and easy, but the claims process is quite broken. We traveled in June, experienced a flight delay resulting in an additional overnight stay, and have not received any compensation despite filing and providing proof of the delay and associated costs. Communication has been extremely slow. They claimed they sent me messages that I have not received despite searching my inbox and spam. They requested a ridiculous amount of documentation paperwork beyond what's needed to actually document the claim and the costs. All to try to recover around $200. As a lawyer myself, I understand the need to follow policies and processes. However, the poor communications and what appears to be a denial first policy means I would not recommend or use this provider again.

Thank you for your feedback. Your claim was closed because we haven't received the required documentation—including photo IDs, flight itineraries, the hotel invoice, and meal receipts—needed to verify covered expenses under insurance regulations. We will gladly reopen your claim as soon as these items are submitted. If you have any questions, please email your claim adjuster directly.

Avoid!!!
This is my response to TIN Legs response to my review that follows. WRONG TIN LEG! I have not submitted any review other than the one that follows, so your assertion that I previously provided a review is false. Frankly, your curt response validates my point that quality customer service within Tin Leg is lacking. Here's a teachable moment to whoever provided Tin Leg's response... You could have politely stated that a claim or record tied to my review could not be found and invited me to contact you to further address my concerns. However, I do not believe that quality and courtious customer service exists within Tin Leg's modus operandi when it should matter most, i.e., when claims are filed and when claiments need assistance with their claims. The purpose of providing my review was not to seek further back and forth with Tin Leg related to my claim. It was a claim for less than $200.00 and is not worth the anger and frustration in having to deal with rudeness, further delay tactics, and the decsion to deny given that all the appropriate justification and documentation was originally provided that warranted approval. The purpose in providing my review was to inform potential customers that the ease in selecting and purchasing insurance with Tin Leg does not translate into quality customer service when the rubber hits the road, and to also inform that there are serious issues with how Tin Leg claims are processed. Again, Tin Leg's curt response proves my point when it comes to its lack of quality customer service. BUYER BEWARE!
Awful customers service and they actively work from the perspective that they should treat every claim as unapprovable until they've made the claiment jump through crazy hoops. I purchased a cancel for any reason policy with a high medical premium. While traveling, one of my flights was cancelled due to illness. I provided all the necessary information reflecting that I was ill, including a chat record with the airline confirming that I had not flown on the flight. I was only asking that the cost of the flight be paid out under my claim, since I was able to get a full refund for the associated accommodations. TIN leg refused the claim stating that the chat record was not acceptable confirmation that I hadn't flown on the plane. I then requested an email from the airline, and submitted that email confirmation, but was told that was not acceptable either. I appealed and the appeal was denied for the same reasons previously given. I travel a lot, and I decided to use TIN leg for the first time on this trip, but I will never use them again. In all my travels, I've only once had to file a claim aside from this TIN Leg claim. That travel insurance company was a 1000% better to deal with, customer service friendly, and processed my claim with minimal back and forth. Avoid TIN Leg! If I could give them zero stars, I would. They're clearly an insurance racket that's focused on taking money in while doing its best to refuse legitimate claims.

This company has demonstrated a pattern…
This company has demonstrated a pattern of unprofessional, dismissive, and obstructive behavior. Their representatives repeatedly made excuses to avoid processing my payment, forcing me to resend the same documents more than five times. Despite my efforts, they continued to provide false information and showed no willingness to resolve the issue.
Their conduct left me no choice but to file formal complaints with the Department of Insurance and the Better Business Bureau. The experience was a complete ordeal, marked by inefficiency, rudeness, and a lack of accountability. Based on my experience, I strongly advise consumers to avoid purchasing any of this company’s policies.

If you actually want your claim paid…
If you actually want your claim paid out I would go with another company. I’ve been fighting for almost 2 months to get a claim paid out for delayed baggage and after providing every single piece of evidence I have they still want more despite the information they are asking for having nothing to do with my flight being delayed. I truly believe they ask for so much information so people will give up and drop their claim. It was stressful enough having issues on my international trip I wish they would make their process easier but unfortunately you have to care about your customers to do that.
