Happy HowlWhere it started:Rocky changedeverything andI never set out to start a dog food company. My husky Rocky had the worst stomach on the planet. Years of vet visits, prescription diets, and hundreds spent on premium food brands. We tried everything. Nothing worked. So I decided to build it myself. 36 recipe iterations. Countless hours with vets and nutritionists. All chasing one question: what’s the best food we could possibly make for a dog? When we finally got it right, Rocky was the proof. He hasn't been sick in over 18 months. He runs three miles with me every morning. That's the standard every Happy Howl bowl is held to. Nothing less.Colin Buckley– Founder

Our girl Lennie loves the food. We tried other kinds and she did not like them. She licks the bowl clean with Happy Howl.

That makes us so happy to hear! We love knowing Lennie is enjoying her meals so much she’s licking the bowl clean. 🐾 Thank you for choosing Happy Howl—we’re honored to keep mealtime tail-wagging!

I've been finding rubbery cartilage in rhe Grandma Beef. I only use 1/3 of the carton and refrigerate so I spoil Bella by warming for 10 sec in the microwave and chop her food up. Lately, not every carton, rubbery size of a nickle and quarter cartilage found just in this carton I opened this morning. I purchase this because it is healthy and she is 13 years old with only four teeth I love Happy Howl and so does Bella I just want make sure this is still made healthy. Your advertising says I could even eat it, but I would not eat or feed that to Bella.

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing your experience. We’re so happy to hear that both you and Bella love Happy Howl—it means a lot to us to be part of her mealtime, especially at her wise 13 years! 🐾 What you’re seeing in Grandma’s Beef Stew is not cartilage but simply beef fat that naturally separates during cooking. Our food is gently cooked inside the carton itself using a slow steam process — similar to a crockpot. Just like when you simmer beef at home, the fat separates from the muscle and rises or collects at the edges. That’s exactly what you’re seeing here. Importantly, this is a good thing — fat derived from real beef is incredibly beneficial for dogs. It provides essential fatty acids that support skin, coat, brain function, and long-lasting energy. We don’t strip it away or use fillers — just wholesome, whole-animal nutrition the way nature intended. If you ever have questions about our ingredients or process, we’re always here to help.

The human grade dog food from Happy Howl is exceptional. My dog loves it. I started buying it a few months ago and signed up for recurring orders of the variety pack. The deliveries are always on time. I am very happy with my decision to change the dog food I had been giving my precious dog for Happy Howl dog food.

Subject: Urgent: Disappointing Experience with Order Cancellation and Lack of Customer Support My dog is not enthusiastic nor does he finish all of his food Order #79468 I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent experience with Happy Howl. I canceled my order last week, yet it seems the cancellation was not processed, as I have received no confirmation or refund. To make matters worse, I have been unable to find a working phone number for your customer service team to resolve this issue promptly. Today I received this. “I’m really sorry, but we’re unable to cancel, return, or refuse the recent shipment since it was already processed under your subscription. Any changes need to be made before the charge date, not on the same day.” This lack of communication and support is unacceptable, and I am very disappointed in this company’s handling of this matter.
Response from Happy HowlSep 29, 2025
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. I’m very sorry for the frustration and inconvenience this situation has caused. Because your order had already processed under your subscription, we were unable to stop the shipment at the last minute. We send an upcoming order email 2 days prior to fulfilling an order. If a order is not canceled during this time, we can not stop the order. Our customer support team is happy to provide tips on how to introduce the food if your pup is not enthusiastic about it on the first try. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve our processes and provide better service to valued customers like you.

I think Happy Howl ticks a lot of the boxes for me. The fact that it’s human grade dog food and pretty much hassle free to prep. My dogs love it! The only reason why I gave it four stars instead of five was I got a bit confused when I was trying to change the subscription. And it got quite messy, but the company was on top of it and fixed the issue. I highly recommend this dog food brand

Love the service and delivery. Hope my spoiled girl just wasn't into it anymore so the food just wasn't being eaten unless I added cheese or chicken or something to it. So I have decided to cook it myself.
Response from Happy HowlSep 26, 2025
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re so glad to hear you loved our service and delivery — and we totally understand how picky (and spoiled!) our pups can be when it comes to food. Sometimes, even the best recipes just don’t spark their interest anymore. If you ever decide to give Happy Howl another try, we’d be happy to share some tips for picky eaters or help you find a recipe that might be a better fit. In the meantime, please give your girl some extra snuggles from all of us here at Happy Howl — she deserves every bit of being spoiled. 🐾💛

Really hard to cancel subscription. Auto renewal happens. My dog got tired of it after first order and is really expensive.
Response from Happy HowlSep 26, 2025
Thank you for sharing your experience. We completely understand how frustrating it can be when a subscription doesn’t go as expected — especially when your pup isn’t enjoying the food. We strive to make cancellation and subscription management as easy as possible. If you’d like, we can personally assist in pausing or canceling your subscription and ensure no further charges occur. We also want to make sure you’re aware of any options to try different flavors or smaller packs in the future, so your dog can enjoy mealtime without wasting food or money. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the subscription experience for all our customers.
