It’s pretty much the same type of human grade food that I make for my pups using the just food for dogs recipe. They seem to love it as much as what they’re use to eating

Thank you so much for reaching out, and I'm so sorry to hear your pup hasn't been feeling well — that's never easy to see, and we want to help get to the bottom of it.
First, I want to reassure you: all of our recipes are produced in a USDA-certified facility, are third-party tested, and are FDA-audited, with packaging that meets FDA food-contact safety standards. So while we take this seriously, please know there isn't a known issue with the batch.
A couple things that could explain what you're seeing:
- A change in consistency between batches can happen naturally with fresh, minimally processed food — it's not a sign that anything is wrong, but we'd still love to take a look.
- If your pup transitioned to this recipe quickly, sudden diet changes (even between two foods they've had before) can cause stomach upset. Easing back in with a gradual transition can help:
Days 1–3: 75% current food / 25% Happy Howl
Days 4–6: 50% current food / 50% Happy Howl
Days 7–10: 25% current food / 75% Happy Howl
Day 11+: 100% Happy Howl
To help us look into this further, could you send over:
- A clear photo of the food inside the carton (showing the texture you're describing)
- A photo of the outer carton
- A photo of the shipping label
- The code printed on top of the carton
- Which recipe and how many cartons are affected
If the symptoms continue or worsen, please reach out to your vet right away — we always want your pup's health to come first.
