Happy HowlWhere it started:Rocky changedeverything andI never set out to start a dog food company. My husky Rocky had the worst stomach on the planet. Years of vet visits, prescription diets, and hundreds spent on premium food brands. We tried everything. Nothing worked. So I decided to build it myself. 36 recipe iterations. Countless hours with vets and nutritionists. All chasing one question: what’s the best food we could possibly make for a dog? When we finally got it right, Rocky was the proof. He hasn't been sick in over 18 months. He runs three miles with me every morning. That's the standard every Happy Howl bowl is held to. Nothing less.Colin Buckley– Founder

My senior cattle dog Cali was experiencing gut issues, anal gland issues & ear infections and was no longer eating her home made food. I spent too much money trying probably 10 different foods and was at my wits end when I ordered the Happy Howl sample pack. I honestly didn't have much hope that she would even eat it when the order arrived. To my surprise and delight she ate the entire bowl the first day and devoured each flavor. I ordered the first monthly delivery fully expecting her to do the usual, turning her nose up after a week or so. I'm excited and happy to report that its been 3+ months and she waits eagerly each morning for breakfast and again for dinner. She has gained the weight she lost back, her gut issues, anal glands & ear infections have disappeared. Her coat is beautiful and itchiness has almost completely disappeared. I'm so thankful for deciding to give Happy Howl a try and I'm sure Cali is too!

Dogs love the food, servings seem a bit small to me but I'm not a vet, looks like rice might be the first ingredient but I'm not a cook either and digging through the good I found rice isn't so prevalent that was good to see, so let's start there, dogs love the food, it actually smells good and changing over did not cause the dogs having the diarrhea which has happened before. My big question is why add dextrose dogs don't care nor do they need it? Just a thought...

Thank you so much for this wonderful and thoughtful review, we love that you are paying such close attention to what goes into your pups bowls! We include a small amount of dextrose in our recipes to support nutrient absorption and provide a quick, clean energy source, especially for active dogs or those with higher metabolic needs. It’s not added for sweetness, but for function, and only used in minimal, purposeful amounts during cooking to stabilize and bind nutrients effectively.
