It's been over two weeks since I signed up, despite the 3-5 days verification process promise. Looking at other comments, I had expected to build in some additional wait time as I'm from the UK, but frankly if TW can't manage something as simple as verification checks in 2021, I wouldn't hold out much hope the platform. Thankfully, I signed up to another platform around the same time and the checks were instant so I've been trading fine since then, but feedback is that if you're from outside of the US, I'd look elsewhere for an options trading platform.

One of the worst trading platforms I’ve used. It’s straight out of the 90’s. Needs a serious revamp as usability almost could not be worse

My main issue with tastyworks is their technology. First, the desktop application seems to be buggy with trades not displaying in the working/filled tabs, and the overall interface feels very alien. I've placed trades at thinkorswim (the first creation of the tastyworks founders) and other platforms, like Robinhood, and it seems that nothing on the tastyworks platform is where you'd expect it to be. Likened to cars – thinkorswim and Robinhood are sorta like Honda Civics in that the buttons are where'd you'd expect them to be; whereas tastyworks is sorta like a weird 80s era Italian supercar – nothing is where you'd expect it to be. While every platform has a learning curve, tastyworks' is a little steep, and it has caused me to inadvertently place trades that I didn't intend to place. Second, the phone app cannot be downloaded to my phone, so I don't if it's good or not. However, I don't have this problem with any other app, so why does tastyworks give me a fuss? Lastly, tastyworks does not offer fractional shares yet, which is a bummer. Unless you have a specific options strategy that you want to impliment – i.e. selling naked options – I'd pass on tastyworks.

Poor customer service. I tried to get my money back but their system is not reliable and I lost some. Don't trust

I've been with Tastyworks for 3 years. They have always answered my questions, via email and they always answer their phones. I'm a swing trader that does covered calls and cash secured puts. They notify me via text when I have options expiring and they are extremely professional to talk to over the phone. I've made a few mistakes over the years, and I call them and they help me get out of positions. This has happened when a put went below the expiration price and I didn't catch it. Usually a big jump in the last hour. They helped me execute the trade to get out of the obligation. Twice it paid me more and once it cost me. 3 mistakes in 3 years with them, not so bad. They were very understanding. TastyTrade videos are great. You'll like Tom and Tony's and others videos. They do talk "lingo", so it can get confusing. I have passed the SIE exams for my Series 65, just waiting to do top off exam in the state. I've been trading for over 40 years, and I've tried them all. No complaints about E-trade, Robinhood, Schwab, Ameritrade, or a few others. I just think if you want a low fee online broker, Tastyworks gets a 5 from me. Recently over the last year, the mobile app has improved and the trades go thru quickly now. I mostly trade on my desktop or laptop, but I like the freedom of their mobile app. Keep up the good work Tom and Crew.

I saw a lot of bad reviews, a bit curious why. But from my experience, I’m based in the UK, I never had problems of contacting them via emails or online chat or even call them. The withdrawal fee for me is $45 which is true because I can’t use ACH as I’m not based in the US

Steal money making withdrawal! Tried out tastyworks for a few months to test the broker and platform. After a few months i decided to close my account and move my money back to IBKR. When making a withdrawal i was not allowed to put in the full amount. It was not possible to get in thouch with support other by email, when they finally answered the wire had been excecuted and they did not want to make it right with the remaining 20$. The transaction fee was 45$! They steal, stay away!

They are good for options trading, but that is all. I am trying for 2 weeks now to withdraw my money, they charged me 45$ for the withdraw without delivering it, than another 30$ for returning the money to the account because their bank refused the transaction. Reason? My bank is apparently too small and I need to provide them with the details of the corresponding bank in the US, address included. Although there were no fields for the corresponding bank to be completed when I first asked for the money to be wired. I've payed hundreds of USD in fees to them and lost thousands in lost opportunities while waiting for my money to be returned. Just stay away, worst customer service I have ever met.
