Meleah- Great SunPower Professional
Meleah was on time, professional, and friendly. She explained what she was doing each step of the process and answered all my questions. I found her to be very knowledgeable. Additionally, she stayed and contacted customer support with me to ensure the SunPower app would work with my system when we encountered an issue. Great service!! Thank you Meleah!

If I could only give a zero review on…
If I could only give a zero review on this company I will do it. You are only good if your system is working but once you’re having problem with it good luck to you. We bought our house brand new in 2018 and the developer offered a solar system through SunPower and we decided to get it. In the first couple of years the system was good, we are getting enough power from the system. And if you have some issues, SunPower people came to fix it. But recently they hired a company named Novasource for maintenance of your system and this company is a joke. I’ve been having a problem with my system since September 2022 and now it’s February 2023 the problem is not resolved yet. I’m getting Zero power from my solar system but I’m still paying the same amount since it is an automatic payment from my bank account. Novasource has scheduled to come to my house 5 different times. The first two it was the same guy that came, he said he has to replace the solar circuit breaker but still it’s not working. The next two appointments, Novasource has to cancel it the day before for the reason of they don’t have enough people and then their technician is sick. Also, you have to wait 1 month for your next appointment. Just last February 3, after a month. A guy from Novasource came to look at my system. He just look at the monitoring system and left. He said the didn’t tell him it’s a two story house and he didn’t bring a ladder and he needed another guy to do it. Sorry this is long already, I am so unhappy right now. If you call SunPower customer service number you will get the same answer that they are aware and the are expediting the complaint. I don’t know anymore. Some of my wife’s co worker were asking about our solar and I have to tell them not to use SunPower because of our experience. I am writing this while on vacation right now in the Philippines but my experience is based from my residence in California where am based. Thanks

In 2014 a lease was signed with…
In 2014 a lease was signed with SunPower for 34 panels with a guaranteed production of 17000-19000 Kwh. They charged .22 cents per kwh when the electric company back then was .18 cents. They charged more than the SCE utility rates. They never provided savings assumptions of inputs. Plus their system never produced more than 14,000 Kwh now its producing 12,000 kwh and they lied and said they sent someone out to fix it. They now say they sold the system to another company and is not responsible for maintenance. We are taking them to arbitration but we are up against three attorneys. They say we don't have a chance. what happen to protect the consumer? We pay 349.00 per month for 12,000 kwh and after 20 yrs we will have paid 83,227.00

Our system wasn’t connecting
Our system wasn’t connecting. They sent out a technician pretty quickly to fix the problem. Julian was prompt and worked quickly to fix the problem. He was really helpful in educating me in the system and answering my questions!

Sunpower Stay the hell away from them
April 2022, I notice one of my inverters is displaying a red alarm. I contact Sunpower who told me that they are in the process of updating their database and it should be ready in June so they can look at my system. Mind you their salesman told me that my system would report any malfunctions to them automatically. June comes still running on half a system call them I do the remote hands for them. They determine they need to send a tech, which happens to be in September, tech comes says the inverter needs to be replaced. They schedule the work for November, I stay home from work no one shows, no phone call, text, email NOTHING! Call them and get their customer service and another lame apology and Feb 1 installation. Guess what today is Feb 1, guess what happened they cancel with no reschedule date. All the while they are collecting their full payment from us. Do yourself a favor stay the hell away from these guys! There is no way to get out from their contract except to payoff the lease in full. They locked me in to 11.5 cents per kilowatt hour and of course energy prices go down, but I'm okay with that because they are going to go back up. They did and I don't have a system to take advantage of that. If anyone knows how I can get out of this contract without burning my house to the ground please let me know

You pay if it works or not!
First of all, Solar is awesome! Especially, when you live in a place with lots of sun it can really make a difference. When it works and your panels produce solar energy, it's quite great...when it works! I'd recommend getting solar panels, just not from SunPower. I urge everyone to stay away from this company as they don't care if your systems works or not. You'll pay for your lease either way. On December 29th 2022 by accident, I noticed a red light on the panel for my solar system when I took out the trash and it was dark outside. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have noticed any issues until I received my monthly electricity bill. I called them immediately after I noticed the light...and they were closed. I called the next morning to report the red light and they were like 'Whoops yea, it looks like you have a faulty part that needs to be replaced and until then your system isn't producing any solar energy. We will contact you via text to schedule an appointment'. Later that day I received a text letting me know that the first available appointment is February 22nd 2023. So for almost 2 months (or longer) my solar system is not producing electricity. I questioned if there was anything else they could do or if my panels are just not going to produce any electricity, they responded that my system was still producing electricity...but it didn't. I received my electricity bill later that month to my surprise it being over 8 times higher than usual. I contacted SunPower billing if I still had to pay for my lease until the issue was resolved and was told by them specifically that I needed to pay for my lease if my system worked or not. It doesn't matter if it produces energy or it doesn't produce energy...you will still need to pay them! ...just additionally you will also have to pay for electricity! Customer service is pretty much non-existent, so do yourself a favor and stay away from SunPower.

SunPower is doomed, stay away
Stay as far away from SunPower as you can, unless you like non-functioning systems, endless hold times on customer service, and refusal to have a tech come out to your house to even investigate why your system isn't producing energy.
My solar system has not been producing energy for several months at the least, and maybe longer. I have called SunPower so many times and get nowhere with them. You're lucky if you can even get a human on the line after endless wait times. Once you do get a human on the line, they'll tell you that you need to contact one of their local dealers. Then you repeat the same exercise with the local dealers, explaining what's wrong, and they tell you you have to contact SunPower corporate to have them send a tech out. But SunPower corporate refuses to send a tech out.
I have no choice now but to rip out this junk system from a junk company with junk customer service and replace it with Tesla or some other company that isn't falling apart at the seams. The wheels are coming off at SunPower. Stay as far away as you can.
EDIT: They've requested more information from me as if my review isn't legitimate or something. Here is my reference number with their customer support: ref:_00D80ZF1L._5002T1OmjR8:ref
Nothing I have said here is something I haven't said to them in private many times. But now that it is posted publicly they are scrambling to address it. We'll see. Haven't heard from them yet.
EDIT 2: Do you see their response from January 30th? They never followed up after that. They told me they would send a technician out and never did, nor did they call me back to schedule one.
EDIT 3: They finally sent a tech out to look at my system (which wasn't even installed correctly). They charged me $300 for this technician to come out. This was about a month ago, since then I've heard nothing from the company. Can't get answers from them about what was wrong, what needs to be fixed, and if it's covered under warranty. So going on 9 months no of no working solar due to SunPower being a disaster of a company.
EDIT 4: Despite their own technicians telling me the system was not installed correctly, and was installed with poor practices leading to extreme fire hazard, and also telling me that the panels are dead but covered under warranty, the corporate office REFUSES to do the right thing and replace my panels under warranty, and fix everything that they did wrong. Their corporate office and customer service people are either evil or incompetent. It boggles my mind that their own technicians can tell me to my face that their bosses need to replace my broken system under warranty, and then their corporate office calls me and spins some crap about why they can't replace it and why they won't replace it. They couldn't even keep their story straight. This business is a dumpster fire of an operation, and customer service is like talking to ChatGPT, if ChatGPT got hit in the head really hard.
Do yourself a favor and never use SunPower. I will be recommending against them to anyone who asks me about them. I will never use them for any of my properties, residential, commercial, or otherwise. The whole point of solar is to save money, but now I am in the hole tens of thousands because they sold me a hunk of crap. I am just glad my house didn't burn down with the poor and shoddy job they did on installing it.
