Sunpower is not answering my phone calls. I have an open case, but nobody ever answered or informed me about the results of our complaint. I do have high energy bills for the last three months, besides the bill for my panels. I am trying to call them, but no one answers me.

My SunPower inverter failed in September of 2022 and in October our dealer/installer contacted Sunpower and was told a replacement was not available. We then have constacted Sunpower customer support people repeatedly over the past 5 months to try to get them to send us a replacement inverter. We were told repeatedly that they could not provide us with a replacement inverter of any kind. As the Sunpower inverter that was sold to us was actually manufactured by Sunny Boy and rebranded, we told them that it did not matter who produced the replacement inverter so long as it was a dual MPPT 3.7 kW inverter or better. I find it impossible to believe that Sunpower has been unable to replace our inverter, which is at the low end in terms of its capacity, for 6 months. Undoubtedly its people decided that as a single homeowner we were the lowest priority for any new inverters coming in to the United States. I finally ordered a Solis inverter on January 17, 2023 from one of their distributors and it shipped out the following day. It was installed by our solar dealer. As of April 5, 2023 the Sunpower escalation person has continued to send me email messages stating that they were doing everything possible to get us a new inverter. Clearly if that were true the company would have closed its doors and shut down its operations months ago. A warranty is worthless if the importer and distributor refuses to honor it as is the case with Sunpower.

The app is TERRIBLE. It works maybe once a week and then it goes back to not working. Once a week the app will update with the import/exports etc but 98% of the time there is always an error or problem. The solar panels are working but the app simply sucks. This really needs to be improved, it ruins the entire experience.

Ryan was helping out with SunPower connection and was EXCELLENT in customer service! Ryan went through the setup expeditiously and explained/demo’d the app thoroughly. I also inquired about the power bank options and he showed me the preliminary information, plus offered to inform the corporate to follow up with me.

I signed up with SunPower last year October and after signing up had questions about the process and over 30 days could not get in touch with my sales rep. Then I finally got my case escalated to manager that stated my sales rep is no longer with them and that I'll get a new rep. My new then passed me along to some else. I've call and email that new person several times and got zero response. I've tried several times in last 4 months to get someone to help me. This company's follow up and follow through is the absolute worst I've ever experience. If I could a negative star I would.

Now that I read some of the reviews, I know that I am not alone. I keep calling and emailing. Solar has not been working since JUNE last year. They keep making excuses. Subcontractors come out and can’t fix it multiple times. They always need ‘another part’. I have not been reimbursed. I Pay the leasing fee and SDGE- because the panels are not connected right. They are great when they work - no customer service when they are down. I called ONCE A MONTH to check up and was asked not to call ALL THE TIME. REALLY???? Guess who will be calling all the time when I stop paying the lease because of breach of contract. This is not good faith anymore. We were told that they have a claim and that we would get a confirmation email and telling uns how much money will be reimbursed. One month later - again - nothing. Save your lame automatic reply to this review that you will look into it. You won’t. So - if you want to waste your time calling a company that doesn’t care as long as you are paying your fees - get Solar with them. Once the system needs repair and maintenance. Good luck. Here we are in April - still not fixed. Was told I would get the true-up bill. Still no emailed. Emailed me the last 3 years - that I didn’t ask for - the system was working then. Was told I would get the email within 5 business days. Didn’t happen. I will call again and update.
