Just had one of the most insensitive, horrible experiences with the agent Ms Gould regarding questions on the Lump Sum Death Benefit of $255.00.
She was callous, rude, sarcastic, and insensitive regarding living relatives and who could claim the benefit.
I am not really shocked that Social Security hires agents with minimal customer service skills but considering questions regarding death benefits you would hope they at least hire agents with some sensitivity?
Ms Gould needs more training and I hope this review prompts supervisors to review our phone conversation and takes some kind of action!

Tax dollars NOT at work!
I am submitting this complaint to document a pattern of serious service failures I have experienced with this federal agency. Despite being fully compliant with all requirements and legally entitled to the benefits in question, I have repeatedly encountered misinformation, unprofessional conduct, and a lack of basic procedural competence.
Over multiple calls, representatives have provided incorrect information, contradicted themselves, and dismissed my concerns. I have been placed on hold numerous times, told to “give the organization grace,” and even subjected to inappropriate personal remarks such as, “I treat every customer as if they are my mother.” Despite lengthy conversations, no progress has been made on my claim, and each representative appears unaware of the details of my previous calls.
It is especially troubling that although representatives claim to record my information, there is consistently no record of my prior inquiries when I call back for a status update. This forces me to repeat the same information and concerns every time, resulting in significant delays and frustration.
Additionally, the wait time for a phone appointment is six to eight weeks. Yet even during these calls, representatives are unable to explain the next steps or how I should prepare. When I finally received an appointment, the agent was disrespectful, uninformed about the purpose of the meeting, and provided false information. When corrected, she attempted to justify the error by stating “the law changed,” referring to a change that occurred decades ago. When I requested a supervisor, I was told, “We are short of help,” instead of being provided proper escalation.
The lack of knowledge of the laws governing their own work, the absence of accurate record‑keeping, and the dismissive attitude toward legitimate concerns demonstrate a systemic problem. Filing a complaint has also proven ineffective, as no meaningful follow‑up or resolution has occurred.
These repeated failures raise serious concerns about accountability, training, and the responsible use of taxpayer dollars. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed thoroughly and that corrective action be taken to ensure that claimants—especially seniors and individuals relying on legally mandated benefits—receive competent, respectful, and lawful service.

I called the SSA in Gastonia NC for…
I called the SSA in Gastonia NC for questions about an overpament. After about 25 min waiting I was connected to Ms. Mauney. She really need to rethink her position with th SSA. She not only was unable to answer ANY question I had, She hung up on me in mid conversation. This person is not fit to assist ANYONE. She is the rudest person I have ever spoken to with SSA. I did call right back and waited another 25 min. I spoke with Ms Noel who was able to assist and was pleasant when doing so. This is NOT the job for a person like Ms Mauney. When working for a government office or anywhere, treat others as you want to be treated. I don't usually even write reviews, but something needs to be done with this person. She is HORRIBLE!!

Very Rude!
Awful, just awful. I called THREE times, and the first two, I got cut off after almost 10 minutes. The third time, I got a hold of an agent, and got cut off AGAIN! The fourth time, I got an EXTREMELY rude representative named Ashley. Her attitude was one of TOTAL control, dictating what the previous representative should have been and not been doing, ending each sentence with, "I can tell you that!" Then she snapped an evil, mean spirited, "I'M SORRY!" Since I am only one of the MANY reasons she has a job, I think she owes her callers a little RESPECT! Shame on Ashley! I hung up. She had me close to tears afterwards. This woman ought to hang her head in SHAME!!!

Came into the north las vegas office to drop off documents…
Came into the north las vegas office to have documents stamped and received. Amanda and Ruth were working the door in orange cardigan. They insisted that I couldn't get my documents stamped and copied as they have been lost before. They were rude and nasty. And basically said that I will be waiting. Then gave the wrong check in info to make sure I was waiting. No one wants to sit for hours unnecessarily but if you have had documents disappear you take them directly in. Do better ladies people are going through enough we don't need the attitude especially when I didn't lead with one. I needed to drop it off based on previous experience. I shouldn't be punished because you feel im an inconvenience.
