As a veterinarian of 26 years, I have had the opportunity to evaluate and test many products for pets over the years. When it came time to try an electronic fence for my new dog Belle, I reviewed all available products on the market. I chose Spot-on for the functionality and ability to have multiple "fences" on the app. So far it has worked well to contain and track my Australian Shepherd. The app is versatile and allows you to change to a new fence location with ease. When I had a problem with the collar, the service team worked quickly to replace the collar with a new one at no charge. I have recommended the product to many of my dog owning clients, and they are all pleased.

Could never trust it
Collar never worked because satellite connection was so inconsistent. Zero dependability. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone trying to keep their dog safe.

Marketed largely to LGS dog owners
Marketed largely to LGS dog owners, who live rural. But GPS service is weak mostly in rural areas, so more often than not the signal doesn’t work, meaning the fence doesn’t. If you are getting this for a farm dog and you don’t have good cell service, it likely won’t work. Would theoretically be good in urban areas, but cannot say for sure.

The collar uses GPS satellites to create your fence and provides correction to your dog if a breach were to occur. Our cellular service is fully optional and does not affect containment or corrections. We love the spot on fence
We love the spot on fence! The only issue we have had is the fence line is close to our house and occasionally the warning beep or the shock will hit in spaces of the home. We just take the spot on off when In The house and it’s not a problem.

Thank you for your review. You are most likely experiacing GPS drift when the false correction occurs. Two ways to alleviate the issue: one is to pull the fence line in question away from the building by 15 feet, if possible. The second option is to add a Home Zone, which will designate the area as a safe place and disable correction while within this zone. Our dog stays home--finally!
This dog collar is finally keeping our Great Pyrenees dog at home. He had been spending his nights roaming the neighborhood scrounging thru everyone's garbage.

Collar works great with no cell service…
