Yet to see an in depth review on firearm purchases from sportsman's guide so ill lay out my experience with them verbatim. I placed my order on a draco pistol (7.62 x 39) on the night of Thursday 10/17 using the 4-pay plan that becomes available once you sign up to be a "buyer's club" member ($40 annual). Order status did not change from "in process -- Not Yet Shipped" for an entire 2 weeks. After the 1st week of no progress, i gave them a call only to find out the firearm was being shipped directly from their vendor and not from the SG warehouse. Sounded like bullsh*t so i asked for a supervisor. On 10/24 The supervisor sent an email to the vendor to locate the tracking information. She said it could have shipped already but they wouldn't know since it didn't come from them. On the morning of 10/28 I called to follow up, and was told they were still waiting on a response. About 3 hours later, I received a shipping conformation via email stating it was sent to FFL. Had to call them again to get the tracking # since it was not in the email. Firearm should be here 10/30 since fedex label says it was just sent out 10/28. 3 stars just because of the 4-pay plan. If you can afford to buy all at once, don't waste your time with them.

Absolutely one of the WORST merchants I've EVER delt with. They can't get an order right - and - their website is misleading and WRONG - and they are NOT customer centered.

Know what you are buying! I've had some issues, and every time I've contacted them everything has been addressed - sometimes better than I could have expected. You do need to research what you are buying. Surplus items are not always what you hope. Since you can't examine them as closely when buying online as if in a physical store there is some risk.

I found the "Sportsmans Guide" when using (a ballistic calculator) one of the many free resources they offer to the outdoor community. Like most, my addiction started with a couple of purchases as a guest. On my third visit, I added up what I would have saved as a member. After I got over being cross with myself, I purchased my membership and never looked back. I've been a member/ customer for several years now and I must say I am a complete "Sportsmans Guide" fan-boy! Is the "Sportsmans Guide" for everyone? No. It has been my experience that, the more informed and seasoned outdoors folks, seem to appreciate what the "Sportsmans Guide" has to offer, better. Having served in the Army, I know that "surplus" has its advantages. The Armed Forces of most Countries need their gear to be flexable in use and highly durable. Both things I appreciate in my outdoor gear. If you are someone who goes "Glamping" or looks for your gear by "labels", you may be disappointed. When looking for deals, there are numerous available, yet the more you know of the gear, the better the chances you will come away with useful items and a satisfactory buying experience. For those less experienced with the outdoors, the "Sportsmans Guide" has several ways to help you make a better buying choice. My personal favorite is my ability to email the good people at "Sportsmans Guide" and ask an expert. Also, the honest reviews are also very helpful. If you are active outdoors and like saving money on the gear needed to enjoy our outdoor activities while being comfortable, then I think the "Sportsmans Guide" could be right for you. Come join us and find out. The small price of the membership, will be fully returned in savings within the first purchase or two! I never ever regret, my annual membership dues as the savings really do pay for it. Stop by, look around. See something that interests you? Do like I did, buy a couple of items as a guest. Get the product, see and feel the quality, add up what you would have saved and then deside! Do you like the "Sportsmans Guide"?

I just recently bought & received the "25' Climbing Sticks" for use with a portable Treestand. The sticks themselves seem like they're built solid, with welds on all the important parts. This product has a 300 lb weight capacity. And, although I'm planning on reinforcing the steps to be stronger, the ratchets that came with it, that are supposed to hold all individual sections snug to the tree, are not built strong enough, for me to trust, when I'm 25 ft up on it. They're junk. And, there were no solid washers to help hold the TREECLAW to main base of climbing stick, solidly.

i cant believe all the bad reviews Sportsmans Guide is getting!! I havent orders in a couple years because of work ( to busy) but i have ordered tons of stuff from them over the previous years and never once had a bad experience!!! with super fast shipping!!

I ordered some product, service rep told me that items would be shipped that day and would arrive in 3-5 business days. 5 days later I received an email stating it would be an additional 7 days. 7 days later, no product...still waiting! Will never order from them again.
