Warning to all artists: Songtrust's post-term collection clause is a total scam. They'll hold your funds for over a year, and then you're done. Don't let them get away with it. Take control of your royalties by signing up with CMRRA for international mechanical royalties, creating a publisher account with a reputable PRO (like ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC), and collecting neighboring rights with PPL in the UK or SX Works. Ditch Songtrust and earn what you deserve. #SongtrustSucks #CollectYourRoyalties Don't believe the fake reviews on Trustpilot. Songtrust's 4-star rating is a sham, and their positive reviews are likely written by their own employees or paid reviewers. I've done my research, and it's clear that Songtrust is manipulating their reviews to make themselves look good. Don't fall for it - read the negative reviews and do your own research. Hi Jose, thank you for sharing this. We want to respond to your concerns directly and honestly, because you deserve that. On the question of post-term collection: this is a standard and disclosed clause in our Terms of Service (https://app.songtrust.com/terms-of-service), which are presented during our signup process. When an agreement with Songtrust ends, collection societies don't automatically know who to pay next, so they continue sending royalties to the last registered publisher or publishing administrator until a new publisher registers your works and claims them. Since you indicated you are working with a new publisher, we strongly encourage you to ensure they are proactively registering your songs directly with societies. Until that happens, those societies will continue routing payments to the last known administrator (Songtrust), which can cause exactly the kind of confusion you've experienced. Your new publisher taking that step is the most effective way to ensure a clean transition.
