My experience with Sondermind has caused so much mental anguish and it continues. They have literally stolen money from me twice. My insurance covers therapy visits 100%, but I have been charged my last 4 visits. I have sent multiple emails and called multiple times with no response. My therapist has even called with me on the line. I was told they would rectify and reverse the charges - they haven’t, and my bank account is now overdrawn. I am on disability. I am astonished at how an organization that is meant to help people can be so careless and predatory. I don’t know what else to do.

I would not recommend Gabrielle Barrington. She tried to call my daughter a liar. After charging me for a session when the link was not available to my daughter. Furthermore, had my daughter saying she had childhood trauma when there wasn't any.

Sondermind has been an awful experience for me. They have caused my so much stress for the past 2 months. I have been waiting on a large refund and each time I call billing, they have a completely different excuse as to why they won’t refund me. I have gotten things squared away with my insurance, and they have had to call with me 2 separate times and yet they still are emailing me that they need more from me. This mistake has been of no fault of my own and has caused a huge weight on me and my finances. I regret ever seeing my therapist for the past six or so months — these random charges happened out of the blue and I worry that this issue will take a very long time to be resolved with the way in which Sondermind handles things.

My therapist was a no-show for the initial session. I texted her on the phone number she provided, and she never responded. I then got an automated email from Sondermind telling me I would be billed for my session. I emailed the Support email to let them know that my session never happened, and they haven't responded. Professional orgs usually generate an auto-response email with a ticket number and approximate wait time for support, but I got nothing. I emailed again and still nothing. Now I have to monitor my credit card so that I can dispute the charge if it comes in. Great way to start therapy! I feel like I need even more therapy now.

This company is absolutely AWFUL! Do not get any services from them! It will cause more stress to you, the staff is awful, they do not even try to work with you, they take forever to reply to emails and calls, leadership does NOT help at all, and it is honestly like they do what they can to make more money. They refuse to work with you on insure, say they can't do anything, and are very dismissive and try to get off the phone instead of work with you. This company has honestly caused my mental health to get worse and has added a huge weight to my life. I have been in contact with them for over a YEAR trying to get them to file claims to my primary insurance. They have cause stress, anger, and defeat in my life. They probably keep their business running through sending their client in a downhill spiral. Please do not bring stress to you life that I am going through. Also they reply MONTHS LATER to this message proving my point telling me to contact them which I’ve been emailing them continuously A YEAR asking for help! They say I have 3 days or they’ll take my comment down. Awful business just trying to show face.

They will hold all of your sessions and then charge your card on file all at once with no notice. They will continue to charge your card over and over with no way to take you card off of their portal. I had to cancel my debit card completely. I reached out repeatedly to billing over and over asking why they were charging my account so much money. A month later a very rude billing person called me and told me the only way to ask billing questions was to call my insurance. I have a remaining balance and the only way they will let me pay is to put my card back on the Sonder Mind portal. I refused because of the experience I had just had with them charging my card without notice. They said I would not be given another way to pay my bill that it would go to collections. So basically they are financially abusing their clients, billing them what they want and automatically taking the money from your account and will not offer you any other way to pay them. Very rude and patronizing billing department. Please steer clear! There are great therapist out there who will not take advantage of you via billing!

SonderMind hires bottom of the barrel therapists. I could not believe my experience. I had my initial “intake” session with my therapist - which I thought was a bit odd, as it was primarily her talking and she didn’t seem like she was really listening to me - but I figured I was just nervous and reading too much into it. During my second appointment though - she talked the ENTIRE TIME. She didn’t ask me a single question about myself until the final 5 minutes remaining of the appointment, as she was too busy talking about herself and the type of therapy she wanted to do (which could have been like a 5 minute summary). When she finally asked me how I was going and if there was anything I wanted to talk about - I told her that there was, but as we only had 5 minutes remaining, it really didn’t seem worth it to bring up as we wouldn’t have time to discuss anything. She basically said “oh okay, bye” and signed off. She didn’t even try to properly follow up or schedule a follow up session. Truly horrible experience, waste of money

Do NOT give them your credit or debit card numbers. Despite deleting my debit card multiple times, I have over $800 drained from my bank account because they keep the card on file (showing as deleted on my end) and continue to charge it in excess. If you have your debit or credit card saved, I suggest canceling the card altogether. For a company that’s supposed to help mental health, it sure is taking a toll on me losing $800 from my bank account and not being able to pay my rent. They refuse to refund me because of my “financial agreement”, yet when asked if the financial agreement said anything about saving financial information and charging it without authorization, the lady said she wasn’t going to argue with me and tried to hang up on me.
