Stay away from ALL Sonder properties regardless of which city you are in. Millennials run this company and they are incompetent beyond belief.
Terrible WiFi, unable to use their WiFi for work, appliances that don’t work and the WORST SERVICE EVER. You will be on Hold 15 min before you speak to a 20-something Who will lie and tell you things are being worked on. Once you pay the $$$$ you are on your own.
We had the apt next to ours (limited to 2 people) filled with 7-8, playing loud bass-thumping music all night long. Police called, security called, Sonder called. SONDER handle nothing. They are worthless.
If in San Diego—you have the added benefit of having 5-10 homeless greet you throughout the day. Sounder’s solution is to give you the option to relocate to another property where you’ll have 20-30 homeless. The mind of the mush-head millennial is a thing of beauty !
You’ve been warned——avoid Sonder Properties !!!!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
My stay in SD has been the worst of any place I've ever rented in my life (and I've stayed at many places). My washing machine leaks water heavily every time I use it. My under door stopper has come off and so there's an opening under the door from which any bugs can enter. There is loud construction directly outside my window which starts at 7 am every day. My internet connection sucks and is inconsistent. The elevator in my building does not work. I've contacted the sonder team so many times for help with these issues. They either fail to adequately fix/relieve the abovementioned issues or they ignore my requests completely. I'll never stay with Sonder again.

Decent experience
I really don't get all the negative reviews here. This wasn't perfect but it was FAR from atrocious. A lot of the negativity seems to be coming from their refund policy during COVID- agree with it or not (and I don't), their policy was (and is) clearly posted that all stays are refundable but only as Sonder credit and they've since updated it to say that 30+-day stays have a slightly different policy.
I booked a 45-day stay at Callowhill Apartments in Philadelphia, as my lease was up but my new place wasn't ready yet. Riots erupted in Philadelphia the night before I was to check in and they kept sending safety emails. I reached out to them as I was driving towards it to ask if I could delay check-in for a couple of days due to this and the street closures and curfews and there was no response, so I just booked a hotel for two days. They are slow to respond but I eventually did get a two-day straight-up refund and checked in two days later.
The place I got was exactly as I booked. It was clean (save for a random tissue at the top of a ledge in the apartment), free of bugs, and everything worked. No problems at all. The location was great- literally four blocks away from the museums and blocks away from many restaurants, a Whole Foods, a Target, etc. I ran on the trail along the river most mornings and it was easy to access. To top it off, I even found a section of a street about 10 blocks away that has no time limitations or residency restrictions so I had no hassle parking my car while staying.
The most sour part of the experience was that a little over halfway into my stay, I got stuck with rowdy neighbors. Most you just heard in the hall coming off the elevator but the next door neighbor made things a bit rougher, especially since I get up around 5am every day. Although the rules clearly state no noise after 10pm and no smoking, this neighbor played loud music with bass at random intervals throughout the day (and night) and routinely had social gatherings and phone calls with loud talking. Additionally, there was a weed smell that started coming through into the apartment and, for the last week I was there, was literally everywhere on the floor I was on. I reached out to Sonder on multiple occasions to report it- they almost always took a long while to respond (often many hours later), were sympathetic, and said they'd notify the individual, but, given the number of times it continued, it didn't seem very effective. I even took and sent videos of specific examples of the noise to them, to no avail.
Another challenge was with mail. I changed my address so my mail went there, not knowing that I wasn't supposed to do that (it says it in the fine print of the site). So, mail delivery was intermittent and sometimes non-existent. I eventually got everything (I think), but, for a place advertising itself as a "long-term residence," it ought to be better equipped to handle mail delivery. Why would I potentially take up long term residence somewhere and never get mail? They suggested getting a box somewhere, but that's an extra expense and an extra hassle.
Overall, it was a good experience *given the rate I paid* (lower due to the pandemic and my extended stay). I'd be much more down on it for face value though (in most cases over $200/night) for the neighbor issues and slow responses.

Zero customer service
Despite that bad reviews I wanted to look into the possibility of renting a Sonder apartment in Rome for two months. I emailed the inquiries email asking if the apartment would be furnished as advertised as my husband would need a desk, but never received a reply. Certainly won't use this company in future.

Awful San Diego Experience
Awful San Diego experience from beginning to end.
First room(yes they had to move us)had hanging and beeping smoke alarm as we walked in the door.Nice quality control Sonder!Moved us to another room in same building.Ants the entire time even after they sent maintenance and we didn't even/couldn't use the kitchen. Then Sonder tried to bill us for a lost keyfob that was not lost which they traced to housekeeping after I argued with them for an hour on the phone.Customer service .... forget about it.Took at least 1/2 hour to get anyone on the phone or text every time I tried to reach them. Then they(different reps every time) were oblivious to the litany of issues over the course of the stay until I pointed them to the text thread (which is the first thing they should look at).
Stay away!!!

Straight up bait and switch
Straight up bait and switch. Don’t rely on photos or the customer service # for help. They straight up lie and will not provide you with the accommodations you are expecting. Additionally- apartment was not clean. We had to clean the surface job they provided, which is not safe during COVID. We were in a predicament and had to use them but will NEVER use them again.
