This is a terrible company and overall experience. I will never be booking with this app or website ever again. Not only did we have a horribly inconvenient checkin process where our door lock password wasn’t set correctly and forced us to be locked out for over an hour on the phone with a very disorganized support staff, we also found the room to be in general terrible. There was loud construction happening upstairs that we were not notified of and consequently had to spend the entire stay with extremely deafening drilling noises. If this was an Airbnb, they would at least give us the option of writing a review on the specific property to let other future guests know which property, but unfortunately for customers, Sonder doesn’t let you leave specific reviews for specific properties so they can pull the wool over your eyes. In addition, the water pressure was horrible, worse than my water faucet at home, and the checkin staff unfriendly. What is supposed to be a “luxury” experience feels anything but, and I have had MILES better experience with Airbnb super hosts. Also, we are generally pretty clean and responsible guests - I have always received good guest reviews from Airbnb hosts and always leave my hotels rooms in decent shape, however, to my horror after a horrible live in experience, we were charged an extra $100 out of the blue due to leaving the room in a “disheveled state that required a deep clean”. What counts as disheveled and what did we do that required a deep clean. We simply ate, slept and showered in the room. We threw the trash in the trash can and left the towels on the floor as is customary in hotel rooms. The bed, couch, table, chairs were all left as they were. There were no stains, scratches, dents, spills or messes that we made. Every time we ate we cleaned up and we emptied the trash. If you expect your guests to do certain procedures (like in Airbnb’s) then you should list them in the booking instead of have these arbitrary standards by which you can steal guests money. Not only is this place much more pricey than your average Airbnb, they also find ways to sneak in these charges. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO BOOK AND NOT WITH THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY.

The worst experience EVER, horrible locations, unclean places, joke customer service, don’t waste your money like we did go straight to Air B and B super host or pay a hotel similar in prize, anything is better that the horrid locations of this joke of a company and worst customer service when you want to cancel DO NOT I repeat DO NOT be trapped by the pictures. I’m still living through through this hell because they won’t refund our money! RUN don’t walk RUN as fast as you are able

I am writing this because I feel people need to know the truth. I read these reviews and almost canceled my stay, but decided to try out this terrible experience myself since I've stayed in the worst hotels in manhattan before. My friend and I are staying in a 2 bedroom in NY. We have been extremely happy so far. Great wifi, comfortable beds, A/C units in each room which is AWESOME. Clean clean clean bathrooms (thank god), and great views. The price was amazing. I honestly am so glad I didn't change to a hotel. Please don't take the bad reviews to heart I think these people expect the plaza for a price cheaper than a small hotel in NY. If you aren't a needy person the Sonder will be an excellent choice for your stay!

APPALLING ABSOLUTELY APPALLING. DO NOT STAY HERE

Currently living in a sonder at Minneapolis MN. Initially i did have a little trouble to get hold of customer service as i was booking for more than 30 days. Once the team connected with me, i have nothing but good things to say about the service as well as the sonder unit im living in. It's top notch, clean and very very comfortable. Definetly recommend and might end up extending.

Worst company to deal with. I have already stayed 5 months at these apartments through sonders. The company lacks customer service. They haven’t cleaned the apartment for my whole stay because of COVID. I understand that but staying here for 5 months and not having adequate supplies to clean is not right. They don’t provide a vacuum just a broom. I had a roach in the apartment and asked them to come and clean it took them two days to reply and get someone. They told me I needed to step out of the apartment for the cleaning lady and I did and when I got back they hadn’t even come. They said that the cleaning lady couldn’t make it that day but they didn’t even inform about it until I asked. Another situation occur this month I got bitten by bugs in multiple spots on their couch. They couldn’t do anything for three days . And they said they would send out a exterminator for it but didn’t give an exact time. I am a medical student and I have a strict schedule I can’t be waiting around for someone to show the whole day and leave the apartment for four hours. This company is terrible dealing with customers. Do not stay with them.

Sonder emailed only a few hours prior to our check in time to say that they had a long term customer require the property and that our booking was cancelled despite the booking being made months prior and fully paid. We were on our way to the London location fully packed with 3 kids! Never again - terrible service!!!

I rented Sonder unit #1134 on 2nd Street in Phoenix. It was the WORST rental experience I have ever had and would provide a no star rating if it was an option. This was a 29-day rental that I chose based on the photos and statements about cleanliness in Sonder's marketing materials. Indeed, there were significantly less expensive options on Airbnb but I believed Sonder's marketing. Bad move. What I found: a dead cockroach in the kitchen, badly stained shower curtain, dead bugs on the floors and windowsills, an area rug that was stained so badly that the original color could only be determined by turning the rug over, seat cushions on the two bar stool seats that were filthy, and pans and dishes that may or may not have been cleaned recently. In addition, there is construction of an apartment building right outside the door that begins by 6 a.m. every morning except Sunday and occasionally occurs in the middle of the night. And the trash dumpsters are 10 yards from the patio outside the unit, are full much of the time and, in the Phoenix sun, get ripe quickly. I started the complaint process three days into the rental; despite repeated promises from various customer service reps to clean the unit, remove the rug, replace the shower curtain, etc., they dropped off a shower curtain 5 days later, sent an exterminator 6 days later, claimed they cleaned the rug (I was away for 24 hours visiting relatives during which time they claimed to have performed the cleaning; I found crumbs in the rug under the coffee table upon my return) and, after 2+ weeks of all of this, Sonder said it would not send a cleaning crew. Based on my experience, I can say that the Sonder team in Phoenix misrepresents the cleanliness and overall quality of the units they deliver and the services they provide. In no circumstances are their units worth top-of-the-market rates and anyone renting from them should ask for proof of cleaning before renting. After waiting two weeks to say they would not clean the unit and after reporting this matter to Amex and Airbnb, Sonder agreed to refund the portion of my rental fee attributable to nights I am not in the unit if I move out. The continuing promises to clean delayed my opportunity to accept an offer I would have gladly accepted after a week or less of Sonder's refusal to clean.
