Hi Lynn-thank you for your wonderful review! We have done extensive testing of all the other retractable gates on the market and the main difference is simply quality. The other gates have complicated parts which don’t stay together well and don’t hold up well to extended use. It is tempting to buy something cheaper but the old adage of ‘you get what you pay for’ is very true here as well.
