By far the best gate on the market. All of our guests ask about it and we recently installed the same gate at my parents for watching the kids!

Easy to install and use - but on the gate side recommend screwing into a stud with at least 1 of the 2 screws where the brackets are, stopped a dog running quickly and no damage - dog is fine not hurt at all - did its job - excellent product

Hi Ronald—thanks for your 5-star Retract-A-Gate review! Yes, we do recommend installing the screws into an inch of wood, either a double wall stud or to use our heavy-duty drywall anchors. We are happy to hear our safety gate preventing your dog from injury. Thanks, and if you have any questions, please contact our Customer Service at [email protected]. Deanna at Smart Retract.

I called in to double check measurements and the rep was very helpful. We received the gate and I couldn't be happier! Its blocks off two of my staircases and stands up to my 16 month old bumping it and trying to get past it. Highly recommend the retract a gate!

I love this gate! Wish I would have purchased it years ago. Works great to keep our golden retriever out of the kitchen and takes up very little space when opened.
