First of all, the gate works superbly fine. It is sturdy, robust and still looks good.It Provides safety for a toddler, keeping him securely off stairs and unsafe rooms (we have 3 gates installed), despite all his attempts to trespass. It is way better than the usual metal gates that never stay in place, and are cumbersome. Instructions are clear and installation is pretty easy. I wish only delivery were faster and cheaper.

This is a quality gate, it has available all the different pieces you might need to make it work in a variety of situations. However I found it difficult to operate with one hand as the bottom connector required me to bend down and slip it in place.I am in my early 60s and that might have something to do with it. We bought this to help manage an unexpected puppy. We really like that we could move it from doorway to doorway . She was able to squeeze underneath it (doberman pincher puppy, about 20 pounds at the time) And she immediately began trying to bite both edges on the sides when we put items in the way so she couldn’t slide underneath. The gate does not say it is bite proof, LOL, that’s not the fault of the product just a pet owner observation. My husband ended up purchasing a steel gate to put by the stair rail, and for the second doorway I brought out our old metal child barrier with the locking gate built in it to walk through. I think this gate would work great for children and any pet that is not overly rambunctious.

Excellent dog gate. Easy to install and operate. Contemporary design fits the house and is unobtrusive when gate is retracted. Our 60# labradoodle has a safe space to be contained when we are not at home.

Installation isn’t for the amateur diy but if you have a handy man or woman Who can install it for you then you will LOVE this gate for its sturdiness and ease of use. I plan to buy 2 more for the porch steps this spring when my little grandson will want to play outside.
