My cats really enjoy eating this food, no transition period needed. They also poop a lot less on this food because more nutrients are absorbed. The food doesn't smell bad when the package is opened, or when left out for a couple of hours (which rarely happens as my cats eat up most of it quickly). My only "complaint" is that the package is hard to pull open, so I usually use scissors.

I looked into Smalls when my cat was diagnosed with kidney disease and was losing weight. The goal was to get him to eat anything and give him fluids every other day. I had tried making my own food for him and tried countless other companies and he had no interest in eating. I decided to do the trial box for Smalls to see if he would like fresh, human-grade food instead. Smalls was my last hope for my cat. HE LOVES IT. He has gained weight, been taken off fluids, and has more energy than ever! Smalls has saved my best friend’s life and I couldn’t be more thankful for this company!

I love that there’s a better and cleaner alternative for my cats’ food but I truly hate the packaging of the food. It’s so hard and messy to get the food out of the package, and the way the calorie lines are on the package, I never feel I’m giving my cats the proper amount of food. My previous order had some Ground Cow in a “sausage”-shaped package and that was actually way better. The advantage of Smalls is there’s not that many companies providing this kind of food for cats.

My picky Chester has gone on and off lots of other cat foods in the past. He absolutely devours Smalls. And while all cat food is meant to be human grade, Smalls actually smells like human food. Great job!

The food is good, and the cats like it. Losing stars on packaging still.

We're not quite sure our cats actually like the smalls cat food honestly. They'll still eat up dry food, and go for the smalls bowl, but because of the consistency (a little on the paste side as far as consistency), they will flatten the food out and it'll sit there. The container is OK, but better ways of measuring based on cat weight and being able to cut out that portion or something would be better. Maybe instead of just the tick-marks a weight could also be listed? The plastic doesn't peel back easily either, so generally it has to be cut open with a knife. Our dog has Farmers Dog, which he is psyched out about when it's meal time... Cats, not so much about smalls... but they are cats.

While my cats would rate this 5 stars, I’m leaving a star off for the packaging. Often times there are little cuts/holes in the plastic and so they will leak a bit as they thaw. And also, it’s a huge pain to try to open as instructed - pretty much impossible - that I have to just pull out the scissors. Plastic cups with foil lids that peel off would be a great improvement, or… anything else lol.

I dont like how strict the subscription is. I want to order less food. I can't fit so much in my freezer. I dont like that i have to switch plans to adjust my wet/dry food ratio. Why can't i just change that in the cart. Give me a minimum spend and let me fill my cart.
