Good Food, Bad Customer Service
We signed up for Smalls after a promotional trial. The food is great and our cats love it, the shipping/fulfillment is terrible though. We ordered 42 packets shipped every three weeks (this was the default for two cats after the trial period). Our issue is we ran out of food the day before our next shipment was set to ship. We reached out and asked to have our shipment quantity adjusted so we wouldn't run out and were told to adjust our order quantity - problem is the next quantity up will leave us with a significant surplus every month. I don't think it's unreasonable for a company offering a subscription product to make their quantities and shipment schedule line up. We don't want to run out of food or be stuck with a big surplus every month. This isn't rocket science... Do better. The response from smalls is general and inadequate. My beef is there isn't an order quantity/frequency that lines up to my pretty standard need (2 packets/day). We started out on 42 packets every 3 weeks (which I assumed meant we'd be ok using two per day). We ended up running out almost a week early though. It should 100% be up to a subscription-product company to align their shipping schedule to the quantities they offer. It is really annoying that I have to constantly manage order frequency.

Hey Nathan, thanks for taking the time to provide us with your feedback! Our subscriptions are pretty customizable and you're able to receive orders at a frequency that works for you! The idea with our subscription service is to build the order your kitty requires, set it to the proper frequency so you never run out, and be able to forget the rest essentially. For example, most kitties need 28 packets of Smalls every 4 weeks, so once this is set up, ideally there should be little need for additional or emergency orders. If you are still concerned about running out, we can recommend either adding more food to your orders or receiving orders closer together. 💛
