SimplyNUC is awesome! 😁🙌
SimplyNUC is, exactly as the name implies: a PC builder that has a simple website, and almost exclusively focuses on Intel-NUC PCs. Their website is (mostly) fairly straight forward to use. However, the prices and markup are a little high all things considered. That being said, they do great quality work. the PC I ordered arrived exactly as I requested with Windows installed to my specifications with no bloatware or any issues. I ordered a NUC12DCMi9 fully configured as follows (screenshot). -- NUC code-named 'Dragon Canyon'). I ordered this because I just did not have the time to price match several websites to buy parts and put things together myself. I placed the order on 04/06/2022. Note that this is post-pandemic timeframe, right before an (alleged) recession is about to hit. In the other reviews, I saw people leave reviews concerned about their PC ship dates, confirmations, and other issues. As you can see from my screenshot, they *do* indeed provide order confirmations. I asked a few times for a follow-up, and was given an updated ETA of late April/May. And then June. Then late June/early July. I was frustrated, as online I saw YouTubers reviewing this particular SKU already and was curious to how these people were getting them, and a (as far as I know) *major* supplier wasn't, or was having issues with supply. On about 06/13/2022, I got a FedEx confirmation that a product had shipped to me from SimplyNUC. Yay, the PC had shipped! Unboxing it was a pleasant experience. They took great care in making sure everything was put back in the packaging in an extremely delicate manner, almost as if there was white glove service. I let them know I received the order and that everything has been stellar. This machine exceeds my expectations. One thing of note is, I recommend getting auxiliary cooling and having this on top of a desk with adequate airflow. The graphics card in this machine seems to handle anything I throw at it. As this particular machine replaced a computer that was at least a solid 10 years old, this was a very welcome upgrade. Also note, you will want to utilize the Intel NUC Studio software on the machine to control and tweak the LEDs. To my knowledge, there's no way to change to the software to report the temperature in Fahrenheit, which is kind of a silly oversight. This particularly configured machine, has 2.5gbe and 10gbe out of the box. They do have the ability to order a 4x NIC but I decided against that for heating and cooling purposes. This machine downloads games on Steam in mere seconds on FIOS. Getting Over It installed in less than a minute (maybe, 30 seconds, even). And Sniper Elite probably installed in less than 10 minutes. Crazy performance for what you pay. I'm extremely satisfied. And to be honest, I'm unsure how they don't have more reviews on Google and elsewhere. I wanted to specifically review them on Google Maps to know that they are awesome. Also, pretty cool that they are based in Texas -- yay! :) One minor note -- this is Intel NUC specific. If you read the fine print on their product manual, there's a page that states that in their testing, the MTBF for these machines when ran at 100% load, 24x7 is about ~5 years, if I recall. That seems a little short, all things considered. I'd be curious to see if there's information on what fails and why. It would be cool if Intel shares that information at some point. This is a great machine, and a great builder/supplier. You won't regret using them. :)
