Sidecar Health is a refreshing new way for a health plan. I love how easy it is to submit your claims on the app & claims are processed so quickly. Customer service is soooo much better than BCBS that we had before! I highly recommend.

Thanks to Isabel I got my reimbursement. Radiology Regional was difficult, refused to provide with the necessary information. Isabel helped me through the process of negotiations and explained to me what to do. She resolved my issue.

My wife and I needed some temporary coverage while I was in between jobs, so we chose Sidecar Health. We got a fairly comprehensive policy priced around $400 a month. I ended up starting at my new job the last week in June and put it on the to-do list to cancel with Sidecar since we had new coverage through my employer. My wife got into a car accident that same week and in between the new job and hospital visits, etc, we didn't get around to canceling until July 1st. Sidecar charged us another $400 dollars on top of everything else for the entire month of July, essentially saying "Sorry you should have read the fine print." Instead of pro-rating our bill, the manager I spoke to basically said "We are sorry for your hardship, but that'll be $400 dollars for calling 1 day late." I can't recommend Sidecar for this reason. -- Update -- At the request of the company in their comment on my review, I provided them the details on my case via the link they sent me. Never got a response at all. Still out the $400 dollars for calling 1 day late. Never used their product a single time. I guess the most important point to be made here is that SideCar markets themselves as a smaller company with better customer service and flexibility than a large insurance provider, but they have demonstrated through this experience that they are completely unwilling to deviate from policy for the sake of common sense or decency... at that point, are they really any better than a large insurance company?

Insurance policies are generally structured in full months (i.e., no prorated refunds if you cancel mid-month), but we would need to look into your plan more to understand the options. I self paid for my annual exam and got lab work done thru jasonhealth.com. I paid $250 for both services using SH visa card. When expense was processed, SH reimbursed $450 to my account. So, technically, I got $200 back which I can use for future expenses. Amazing health insurance and got great help from online & phone customer service agents too.
