This company is a total sham! Be aware! I ordered a Knoll office chair and the chair I received was used and damaged and missed special coasters I ordered as well. The customer service was basically non-existent and I was offered a 15% deduction in price and new coasters. What a joke. The website claims free returns and 30-day money back guarantee. False advertisement. And there is no option to talk to a customer representative to seek a resolution.

Got excited at the price on the site, clicked "purchase" before I thought about looking into this business. Last time that will happen. I received my "refurbished chair" (Steelcase Leap V1) about an hour ago. Upon inspecting the contents of the box, the seat pan/cushion is missing, as well as a caster. I am not sure what else may be missing as there was no shipping contents to refer to and I cannot begin to try to assemble the chair without all of the parts. Based on what I have seen so far, I am not expecting the gas cylinder to be remotely functional/stable (kind of hard to test that with no seat and a missing caster). Chair is also missing the knob/cap (the right front corner, under where the seat cushion would/should be) for one of the adjustments- it was not in the box and it appears to have been broken off. It looks like whomever packed this chair disassembled it, lost a few parts (broke a couple more) and literally threw it across the room into a box. The bubble wrap wrapped nothing- it was placed on top of the chair parts and the box itself looked like it went thru a warzone by the time I opened it. The back rest is dirty, knob is broken (which did not occur in shipping- it wasnt in the box) and its obviously not seen anything remotely approaching "refurbished". Called their # immediately, was advised via voice message that the best way to reach them is by email or support message on their site. Sent to them pretty much what you see in this review. Now the $350 waiting game begins. I would love to have been pleased by this purchase. I can already sense where this is heading, however.

The cylinder on my chair is defective. I’ll set the chair at the desired height and within 30 minutes the chair has sunk to the lowest setting. Seatingmind will not let me return the chair without a thirty minute video showing the sinking. Terrible customer service. Very disappointed. When paying $600 for a chair, you expect it not to have functional defects and now the burden of proof is on me? Go elsewhere!

Nowhere on either site run by this company (seatingmind or officechairatwork) is there any mention that their products are either used or returns. I bought a Haworth Zody chair with what appear to be aftermarket headrest and soft caster add-ons. The chair was taken apart and packed very poorly, which allowed components to flop around loose and damage the chair. Box tape wasn't even adequate, as the bottom of the box was half torn open. They made good on return shipping. I should have taken the refund and moved on, but I asked them to send another chair. This one was beat up, with paint chipped away from the base right above the casters. The casters were filthy, with dust balls and hair caught inside of them. They also forgot to give my soft casters with this unit. That's when I realized they were selling only used furniture. Some of their products may be worth the price, but mine certainly were not. Add to this the hassle of having to return two badly packed chairs, and my experience was definitely a losing proposition. They also have not successfully sent the second UPS return label to me. And why, despite posting mostly favorable reviews, is there no link to rate the company?

I initially ordered a Herman Miller chair with upgraded armrests and base BUT when they told me those add-ons were aftermarket, I told them to just ship the base model. But they ignored my request and shipped the chairs with the add-ons and suggested that I try them. I immediately emailed Jacob that I wanted just the basic chairs, and emailed twice again, but no response to all 3 emails so I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company

This company is a scam – just read their stilted, off-tone responses to other complaints. I bought through officechairatwork.com but this is the same company. In fact there are a bunch of sites all with the exact same prices, reviews, etc. Each cloned site has the same better business bureau reviews, etc. They're all the same company - which is a real company but it sells poorly refurbished chairs that are packed poorly. They inevitibly break during shipping which... is not covered or returnable. That's the scam. If what they sell you is broken already, you can't return it. I ordered a Herman Miller Aeron chair for what I thought was a great deal ($650 or so) and THEN read better business bureau and other review sites. I freaked out because I hadn't realized the chair is used and their insane terms of service (which can be changed retroactively?). I freaked out and read that to cancel an unshipped order there is a 30% restocking fee (obviously – it's a scam!). So I emailed and asked if I could *change* my order to a "better" chair that would suit my office. They said yes (!!!) and so I requested to change to their lowest priced chair because it was "better" for my office. It was $130 for an overpriced super basic chair but it was less than 30% of $650. They pushed back but I insisted that they had agreed to let me change. They finally agreed and refunded the difference. Then when the shipping date rolled around... they didn't have the chair, because... they're a scam. So I got all my money back. I feel really clever at escaping the scam but they obviously read this site and will probably put the kabosh on this loophole. If an offer seems too good to be true, it likely is. Online Aeron purchase arrived quickly, in good packaging, and exactly as expected. I will likely buy another for my wife.

They never shipped the casters I paid them for and after several ignored emails, they issued a refund to shut me up and then cancelled the refund a few days later. Avoid these scammers at all costs.
