Charles Schwab had a review period after obtaining substantial personal information of mine prior to deciding to open my checking account. They told me I'm approved and to log in to verify. I was told that they immediately closed my account after approval. Seems like a data farming scam. What Can Be Proved While the "data farming" motive remains speculative, the following facts are documented: High Closure Volume: In 2026 investigations, Schwab reported a 6% attrition rate following the TD Ameritrade migration—representing roughly 420,000 to 500,000 accounts. Documented Regulatory Fines: Schwab has been fined for misleading practices, including a $187 million SEC settlement for hiding costs in its robo-advisor "cash sweep" program. Data Privacy Failures: The company has suffered verified data breaches, such as the MOVEit breach and a 2025 leak exposing details of 610,000 customers. Aggressive Fraud Algorithms: Proven cases show Schwab frequently freezes or closes accounts for "business reasons" after large initial wires or "unprofitable" trading patterns (like scalping). disproportionately high rate of immediate closures is well-supported by consumer complaints and recent class-action filings. Worst banking experience I've ever encountered, my guess people bite it due no fees and free ATM. The bank locked my newly opened account by a fraud team because i used zelle. They want me to drive 1200 miles to show them my id, transaction recipe, a letter with account reasoning was opened, utility bill.

I am very upset with this company. I have been working with Paidemoyo. He is extremely bad with communication and doesn’t get things done in a timely manner. Has had money up in stocks and doesn’t update through any changes. Has been a year and only hear from him 1-2 times a year. Also didn’t explain very well about the company and what they stand for. Very bad example of a financial advisor. I wouldn’t recommend for anyone that is wanting to better there lives.

Why bother! Schwab doesn’t seem to care about issues but they really do try to help! BUT THEY ARE GOING AFTER THE CHINESE MARKET AND AMERICANS ARE INSIGNIFICANT! I go to schwab and they link is in English but the first two options , my iphone, are on MANDARIN! I thought I was hacked! The people said “we’re a global company and that os’s perfectly normal!!!! What would you think if you opened your multi million dollar portfolio and your company, Schwab, offered options ONLY ON MANDARIN! Hack! Jack! Three people said it’s ok! Not to me! Time to find an American Company! Let me use names! Sherman’s, Grant and I escalated my concert to Avery. Their responses were basically the same . Yes, that what we do but we can change your view! Please be patient! I have no patience! Every was the escalation person! Same story! Shame on them!

If I could give ZERO 🌟 I would. This had to been the most stressed I ever been in my whole life. I opened a account online. It got approved and than it got approved to make deposits, online, mobile and branch, i made my mobile deposit. They than put a hold on my chexk, and demanded i come in person to verify myself even though they have online verification. I.am disabled they were aware and still forced me to come or "else I wouldn't be able to get my check out of the account. I made.it there which the closest branch is almost 50 minutes away. Upon arrival i had everything thing they requested, they kept my copies of my utilities (which is illegal BTW) After I left and called the heat day is when things got bad for me. They apparently closed my account without my knowledge or even telling me. I called a few times before I was aware or the closure. They acted as if my account was still open. They claim they closed the account a few days after the deposit but the actual deposit cleaned a few days after the so called closure. Now my check is considered cashed because it cleared. They claim my money isn't in my account and they got no clue where it is, other reps said its in my account. They told me they have it in a Schwab account they dont know where, I was told so much stuff. Im so stressed I am over this bank iml never bank with them again.

I am absolutely furious and extremely disappointed with Charles Schwab's horrible customer service and their ridiculous account restriction policies. I tried to withdraw a portion of my funds after making some successful trades, and suddenly my account was completely restricted without any clear warning or proper explanation. I couldn't trade, I couldn't access my balance properly, and my withdrawal request was stuck in limbo for weeks. I spent hours on the phone with their support team, explaining the situation over and over again. Each representative gave me conflicting information, put me on hold for ages, and ultimately just read from a script without actually helping. They kept asking for the same documents repeatedly, claimed there were "security concerns" but refused to provide any specific details. It felt like they were deliberately delaying everything and making it impossible for me to get my own money out. This whole experience has been incredibly stressful and has made me lose complete trust in Schwab. I would never recommend this broker to anyone, especially if you're planning to withdraw larger amounts. Stay away! Fortunately, during one of my frustrating phone calls with support, a family friend who was visiting overheard the conversation. He has years of experience with brokerage accounts and immediately recognized what was happening. With his guidance and help navigating the process, I was finally able to get my account unblocked and successfully processed my withdrawal.
