Running Warehouse [How Not To Day Retail E-Commerce In 2023]
Amazon taught us how to do e-commerce and provide the infrastructure for those how cannot do it themselves. In 2023, there is no excuse for being this bad. I am a first time user of Running Warehouse, a pan-Europe store based out of Germany. The proposition is a low[er than average] price and 3-4 day guaranteed delivery to your door with DHL. This is misleading as the price is the price less sales tax, which you have to pay on delivery. Shipping is through Deutsche Post and its country affiliates. In Switzerland, this is through Swiss Post. The DHL tracking told me my package was delivered, but not how to get it redelivered. The customer support phone line repeats the same information. The customer support email is not answered. THE DHL online portal does not provide any functionality. It currently states my order is in Germany, 10 days (8 business days) after order. The tax cannot be paid unless you collect from a Swiss Post Office, and it was there I was able to track down my package, which I had to pay to collect. The customer address on the package was not the one I entered in the order, nor the one registered with the post office. It is a miracle I have my package. I called Running World three times for support and received little. I received commitments to arrange redelivery and of call backs. No commitments were kept. In frustration I asked for a refund and this was not possible without the order being returned. Customers have a responsibility to call this stuff out. We accept it and the service will continue to decline in the name of margin. I shall look forward to adding Running World’s cost base when I return this item.
