If you join this app to be a dog sitter: don’t! I’ve been a dog sitter for over a year on the app “Gudog” which was bought by Rover, and I will be stopping with my services, because Rover makes it so uncomfortable for dog sitters. They threaten dog sitter and put restrictions on us if you don’t respond quick enough. I went on holiday for a week and had marked my calendar as “unavailable” but still got a request, and when I got home they (Rover) had turned off my profile and send me several threatening emails, for not being active on the app while being on holiday. They also refused to give me my payment for a dog sitting that I had completed. It’s a shame that they don’t realise that us dog sitter are also important for their business. I enjoy taking care of dogs and have had many, very satisfied dog owners, so it’s unfortunate that an app can ruin the whole experience:(

Piss poor. Nearly all the hosts state availability on their calendar then suddenly aren’t available when you arrange for a booking. Or they agree then cancel. Just go on the internet and find someone independent local to your area instead. I had far better success that way.

Daily photos and videos were great! Tug had the best time!

Hence posting here. I have already contacted Rover support multiple times, and every time it has been a useless call. Our pet was supposed to be under the care of the pet sitter we booked through Rover, but instead his brother took our pet for a walk. He later claimed that our pet went missing during that walk. The day before, our pet’s collar mysteriously disappeared even though it was clearly visible in pictures we had shared earlier. We have also shared these pictures with Rover. His stories about what happened were inconsistent and unreliable. Based on the circumstances, we believe the sitter’s brother may have sold our pet and made up these stories to cover it up. Rover did nothing to help us, nor did they respond to even the bare minimum request of allowing us to leave a review for the sitter so that no other pet owner has to face what we went through. All we heard from Rover was, “unfortunately, we can’t do much about the situation.” Rover failed to support us when it mattered most.

I will literally give 0 stars if I could. They do not provide refunds and support is non existent with the same response over and over. They keep your money even if you cancel within their policy. I had to contact them several times. Be aware that they’ll keep your money.

Customer Service is atrocious so buyer beware! Mine was a last minute booking, site encouraged me to approach 2 sitters and somehow I booked them both for same job. I only realised when I saw two payments pending on my account. I was told not to worry they had cancelled one sitters. Following day both Payments left my account days before booking would take place. I have been reimbursed half of the cancelled booking fee and told the other girl had a cancellation policy....for being accidentally booked for all of a few hours she got half of her sitting fee. I contacted the cancelled sitter about her policy and she said she would contact Rover to waiver.. obviously didnt happen. Impossible to get to speak to a human. Take your time booking, read everything!!! An expensive mistake to make and the company doesn't care once they have payment . As for their customer service I spoke to a non English speaking gentleman who just reiterated their policy. No give or take, total waste of time. I have emailed, chatted to robot, left messages and phoned....brick wall

DO NOT BECOME A SITTER WITH ROVER. The policies are unfair and the people within the safety team are simply rude and arrogant. Circumstances beyond sitters control you're immediately deactivated without any care for your wellbeing. They have very unfair policies and I really wouldn't touch them with a 9ft barge poll. Please do not make the mistake I made. Go elsewhere, you've been warned.
