Understood exactly what I was getting. I was nervous about having a stranger in my home, but felt better given Rover’s background check policy and service guarantee. My pet sitter was very professional and went above and beyond to keep me informed while I was traveling.

The process of finding and booking a sitter for our dogs was perfect! We were nervous at first, but found the process to go smoothly and made our worry disappear. Definitely will be booking again soon!

Ultimately it turned out very well. The sitter was competent and did very a good job with my cats. The problem I had was with Rover itself, the app, at least using my smartphone was very difficult, verging on Impossible to use. I had to have my daughter help set up my account on her computer. In general the app goes into incredible detail, early on, and stops if you don't give the answer it wants and forces you to go back to the beginning. When in fact I was trying to set up an account.

I've used Rover for years. I used them before they changed the name to Rover. This recent experience was terrible. I paid over $850 for a pet sitter to care for my dogs for 8 days. I brought food and treats for them. The sitter wrote down instructions that I gave her. For the 8 days that I was on vacation she sent a short text at 2:40am the first day. Then I heard nothing for 6 days even though she promised updates. I kept texting asking for updates and was ignored. I called Rover as instructed by their website help. They transferred me to another department. They told me I had to contact the sitter. The sitter was ignoring me. So Rover didn't nothing. I picked up my dogs at the end of the 8 days. They smelled like feces so strong I could smell them 10 feet away. They were confined in a cage the whole time where they had to poop and pee. That's the only way they could smell that bad. The sitter looked like she was on meth. I will never trust Rover again.
