As a sitter, I truly enjoy the different fur babies I have watched in my home. Especially the return visitors. I have never had a bad experience with any pet or their owners. My issue is that over the years (Doggie Vacay) Rover have slowly creeped up on the fees (30%), that they remove from the sitters, even after charging a fee to the pet owners. It's also at the point where its not beneficial to me to continue. This new tier program is ridiculous. I am still in disagreement even after your reply. I give each pet care and attention no matter if they’re at my house for 24 hours or two weeks. Doesn’t matter if this is the first time at my home or they’ve been there a dozen times. My care for these pets doesn’t alternate with the amount of money that I make. Rover is deciding how much I should be paid from the rate I set and plus taking a generous cut from the sitter and the owner. I live very close from a major airport, so most of my pet owners are normally first time, last minute, taking care of an emergency. And because they’re first timers, Rover take a larger percentage, and lets me know that the more they use me as a sitter the more of a percentage I’ll get in the future. And again, most of mine are not repeat because they weren’t planning their first stay with me to begin with, but life happened. Sadly, this will be my last year of being a sitter after over 10 years. Rover charges a fee from the owner and still takes 30% of what they pay towards boarding from the sitter.

Hi J TX, we appreciate your review of our new graduated take rate structure. We’re continuously testing new ways to better recognize and reward the care and effort you put into building strong client relationships on Rover. This program is one way we’re doing that: As those relationships grow over time, so does what you take home per booking. Our fees support 24/7 customer service, trust and safety, site maintenance, and sitter benefits, including payment processing and promotions. They also fund our Rover Guarantee for peace of mind. For more info, feel free to reach out to us at 888-453-7889. -Lynn

I have used the service three times for my grand Dog. And have been extremely satisfied and pleased with this app and the services rendered taking care of my daughter‘s dog.

Awful, awful, awful! This sitter did not interact with my dog at all! I have the security video footage to prove this. She sat on my couch the entire time and ignored him I left her instructions about letting him out and playing with him for the first 30 minutes upon arrival, she did not do as requested. She was supposed to arrive at 7 am and be there for 2 hours. Instead she arrive at 8:12 and left at 9:36. She did not communicate with me about this. In fact, she only responded to me after I initiated contact. My dog sat by her on the couch wanting some attention and she just pushed him away. She had no problem helping herself to my pantry and eating my food, which i did not agree to. At one point my dog was whining for attention, and she just sat there on the couch on her phone. In fact she sat on the couch the entire hour and a half that she was here doing absolutely nothing for my dog. Rover is terrible in addressing complaints as well. I have reached out to Rover several times to no avail. I would not recommend this company and in particular this horrible sitter

The app is easy to use to find a pet sitter. We missed a day due to the app having an outage and was not able to get an update from our sitter. However, our sitter's service was great!
