Absolutely appalling customer service
It is absolutely appalling, that I have spent 10 years using Rover have 100 confirmed stays totaling more than $10,000 and rovers answer to a last minute holiday weekend reservation cancellation is a $20 credit. The $20 credit comes nowhere near covering the last minute fees being charged by the new sitter and it doesn't even cover Rover's trust fee and doesn't even come close to it. This is what brand loyalty gets you from Rover over 10 years you get $20 in credit. For the amount that is paid they can't even have us based customer support. EDIT: to the reply from Rover. Yes, hosts are able to cancel whenever they want, for whatever reason. HOWEVER, if pet parents do the same, they are charged either the ENTIRE stay fee or 50% of it. And EXACTLY my point: ROVER does not care about loyalty at all. Even though they signed dip and get paid by the sitter and the pet parent booking services. It's a great business model and they don't even have to pay wages for staff in the US. That 24/7 customer support number. Yeah, outsourced. Go figure. Having us based customer support would eat into their profits.

Hi, thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear that this has been your experience. Sitters on Rover have the freedom to customize their business, and that includes choosing their cancellation policy. While we cannot override a sitter’s policy, you are more than welcome to ask the sitter directly for a full refund. If you need further assistance, our 24/7 Rover Support team is available at 888-453-7889. Please don't hesitate to reach out. -Lynn
